i wonder if some of the female duke students, who basically held fake lynchings in the duke guys' yards, are going to apologize?

Nope. Cooper said at the news conference that they were not going to press charges against the dancer as they basically said in so many words, that she was so screwed up, she believed each story she told them, no matter how different it was from the last.

Nifong has absolute immunity. He can't be sued unless he stepped outside his role as a D.A. which is actually in doubt. As shitty as it is doubtful that they can successfully sue anyone. Couple that with the amount they spent to retain Wade Smith and Joe Chesire, et al they got royally screwed. Happens every day though.

speaking of nappy headed hos, how the hell does that get turned into a racial comment? Was it the nappy headed part or the ho part that made them think he was referring to all black people?

IMUS's show was something I loved to watch. If you don't like it turn the damn channel. Damn you MSNBC. oh and its about time for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to aplogize for their Duke comments, like IMUS had to about NAPPY HEADED HOES.

Hahaha...

Yeah, this was a pretty shitty turn of events. I hope the duke players' lives aren't completely ruined by this crap.

"Weren't you investigated for rape once?"

Yeah but the stripper was lying, that was proved in court, and the charges were dropped.

"But you were investigated for it right?"

Mmm... There's a conversation one would like to avoid.

Things that need to happen now....

Mike Nifong- disbarred and kicked out of office.

Durham-Herald Sun- Prints apology for piling on, pledges to run Ann Coulter's column for a year as punishment.

Chancellor of Duke- Apologizes and resigns for cancelling season and firing coach. Leaves for a 5 year personal journey to find a spine.

Every Professor who piled on: Loses tenure, has to get real job.

Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson: Public apology for calling them white rapists.

Black Panthers: Come back and march in protest of strippers making false police reports to get back at smart-ass college kids.

All the Pot-Bangers: Arrange all their pots in front of the Duke boys homes..spelling out "We Were Idiots"

Roy Cooper: Promises to stop starring in "Public Service" announcements that he always runs around election time. "This is NC Attorney General Roy Cooper, reminding you to chew your food at least 50 times before swallowing. Thank you..this is Roy Cooper"

The Duke Boys: Write their books and make millions.

The Stripper Accuser: Feels real bad.. offers to dance for free at Nifong's going away party.

While I am thankful that these boys have been cleared of what were, obviously from the very beginning, false charges - we cannot forget that the Chancellor and Group of 88 had very valid concerns about conduct that DID occur at that party. Specifically the racial slurs and verbal abuse coming from overly intoxicated(mostly minors) players who have a duty to represent the university in the best way possible.

they drug these guys names and faces through the mud for a whole year, not once showing the person who accused them. now that they have been proven innocent, i feel its only right for her name and picture to be shown on the news...

you can get charges expunged from your record, but it doesn't happen automatically just because they're dropped

so because they uttered some racist remarks at a party they should be viewed nationally as rapists for over a year?

the lax kids already had discipline problems and then they had a underage stripper party. i don't think the firing was totally out of line.

I guess it's a huge relief for the players and I'm happy for them.

But leaving them and their families with $3 million in legal fees is going to quell the celebrations for them bigtime.

Someone needs to set up a donation to help pay thier legal bills. I'd kick in a few bucks as long as it wasn't paypal based.

I'm sure that Sharpton is thanking his lucky stars that he has the whole Imus story to go batshit over in lieu of facing up to the apology he owes to the lacrosse players

You're right, Duke LAX players are the only collegians who have ever hosted a party with alcohol, talk about discipline problems out the wazoo, out with the coach, he must be fired!

players getting arrested for assault in a separate incident, racial slurs being yelled at passersby, not to mention other rowdy parties that had gotten them in trouble with the university. it's not like these were shining examples of collegiate athletes.
