Theres a similar post further down in the thread that a friend of mine posted for me before I was able to join TWW....but I thought I would start my own thread, since I've changed the reward from $100 to $300. I'm also willing to pay someone to help me hang up 100flyers around NC State and near Western/Gorman/Avent Ferry.

Anyway, Rufio has been missing since last thursday evening. I last saw him in my apartment complex. He either slipped outside with a friend when they were leaving, or he found his way into the heating box vent in my closet. I called animal control and maintence and they had no luck.

I've put food down the vent, I even adopted another [female] ferret last night, maybe I can lure him back up the vent if he smells her. But if he happens to be outside, someone will probably see him. He's a huge ferret, all white with dark eyes. He's VERY sweet and very friendly. If you see him, catch him and please message me. Like I said, I'm offering a $300 cash reward to whoever finds him.

Please bring him home, I miss him terribly.

And in responce to some of the other replies in the other thread. No, he did not smell at all! He got showers/baths every 1-3weeks, he had little ferret cologne, and I kept his cage/linens clean....and I used this bi-odor stuff you put in their water, that works wonders.

Please help me find him!!

yes, ive been posting on craigslist as well. and i'm going to put up more flyers...as soon as this rain stops.

he either slipped out thursday night when a couple people were leaving...i usually walk people to the door when they leave, but they came to see my week-old kittens, so i had all them in my lap, and didnt walk them to the door. yadda yadda...he either slipped out with them (he always charges towards the door when i try to leave), or he found a hole in the heat box vent thing in the hall closet...i called animal control and had maintence come out but they couldnt find him

Good luck finding him! I have a ferret too and know how they are!

Have you tried checking to see if he got in the laundry room or dryer vents?--I have heard they can get in there. Also, mine has buried in the underside of the couch into the interior lining before.

Also maybe check with Triangle Ferret Lovers---sometimes found ferrets get reported there:

well ferrets have been domesticated as long as dogs (some research says even longer) and everything i've read says that they don't survive well in the wild. but at least it's been nice outside and it is a well populated area.

Have you contacted the SPCA and put up a sign at their intake facilties?

What's his favorite treat? My 2 boys love dried bananas and raisins and anything peanut butter scented. Try placing his cage outside your place with food in it with the door down.

I have 2 males ferrets "Jack and Stitch", I'd be heartbroken and distraught if I lost one of them or any of my pets for that matter.
