"NCAA reverses violations against OSU
Enforcement staff missed deadline for filing charges

Posted: Friday April 13, 2007 4:08PM; Updated: Friday April 13, 2007 4:08PM
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The NCAA on Friday reversed itself and threw out three violations and part of a fourth that occurred under former Ohio State men's basketball coach Jim O'Brien because the association's enforcement staff missed a deadline for filing the charges.

O'Brien was fired on June 8, 2004, six weeks after he revealed to then-athletic director Andy Geiger that he had loaned $6,000 to recruit Aleksandar Radojevic in 1999.

A subsequent investigation by Ohio State determined that seven NCAA violations had occurred in the program while O'Brien was the coach.

But the NCAA appeals committee said on Friday that its enforcement staff missed the deadline for notifying Ohio State of the charges regarding Radojevic by two days in 2005.

The committee upheld the other violations involving O'Brien, including improper benefits awarded to Boban Savovic, a member of the Buckeyes' Final Four team in 1999.

I wouldnt be as mad at this if those nappy headed hoes had either beaten Florida or lost to Georgetown since either one of those things would've won me a couple bracket pools

and oh yeah, that whole 1973 season thing

sounds like OSU was pretty smart to call the NCAA out about their mistake

and what the fuck does this matter to you idiots anyways, this happened back in 1999 when two players who youve never heard of (Aleksandar Radojevic and Boban Savovic) were part of a team that they barely contributed to and was coached by someone who has since been fired, along with his athletic director

I understand that a lot of people, for whatever reason, think that the Ohio State basketball and football teams are having so much success now because of crooked recruiting - but if you think about it - they are under such a strong microscope right now that OSU has probably the absolute cleanest program in the country and Thad Matta (as well as Jim Tressel) are a couple damn good recruiters and coaches

it pisses us off b/c of the ncaa's refusal to consistently enforce its rules. nc state could have 3 championships right now if it werent for being banned from the tourney for a year b/c of DT. if greg oden hadnt been comitted to OSU, they prob would have faced similar sanctions but it would have cost the ncaa to much money.

let me know when you're done sucking trestman's and matta's dicks. i'd be glad to show you how that program is no cleaner than michigan's was when we got sanctions slapped on us after you're done.

Trestman isnt OSU's coach, genius

I'm not saying that O'Brien wasnt a crooked coach and that the program wasnt exactly stellar a few years ago, but after all the red flags were raised by the NCAA, the Buckeye program has been under the microscope, forcing them to be very clean - cleaner than most programs

Plus, even though the NCAA cant enforce all 4 punishments for the 4 violations, the OSU program is still enforcing them on themselves.

^^if Oden didnt go to OSU he wouldve gone to some other big name school - so I dont see where you are going when you say that the NCAA would be losing money by OSU not being able to sign him. OSU mightve lost some recognition and money, not the NCAA

okay, youve officially lost all credibility by talking shit about Tressel's hairstyle when your old ass coach doesnt even have a hairstyle (unless you count receeding hairline as a style)

p.s. only women base their "I'm better than you" comments on a person's hairstyle. As long as my coach continues to DOMINATE your coach on the playing field, he can have a fucking mohawk and I wouldnt give a damn

fuck ohio, piece of shit state and team...

their coach dominates lloyd? yea but he CHEATS! (see --> troy smith allegations)

but lloyd dominated cooper... and cooper always came to that game as a #1 or #2 ranked team, meaning all about coaching... recent years michigan has just been mediocre without as much talent

right, cooper was an awful coach. He couldn't beat scUM or win a bowl game, that's why he was let go. He was a hell of a recruiter, but again, an AWFUL coach.

^^^^i find it amusing that you would call me a woman for talking shit about somebody's hair, then you turn right around and do the same thing with Carr.

i'm not seeing your proverbial "i'm better than you" comment in there. i'm seeing a comment about how ridiculous his shit looks being used to say "it'll never fucking happen." would you like to ride my nuts some more?
