I'm posting this for another person (who I don't even know personally, so don't start flaming). My parents wanted to adopt this cat ("Garth"), but they don't feel they'll be home enough to stay on his twice-daily insulin injection schedule. I'd foster him, but we already have 4 cats and a dog in a small apartment.

If you want to adopt Garth, or can foster him, or know someone who would like to adopt him, please contact Will and Gail at kelly115@mindspring.com or 919-387-5999

They are moving in the next couple weeks and need to place him as soon as possible.

they voluntarily posted that information in the craigslist ad. if people are going to be fucking cunts and just decide to harrass someone because there's an email address and phone number available, they could just click on the link and get it without my help.

yea...being helpful and being a dick seem to be 1 in 1 on that post.

Look simple and easy folks. If you know someone that could help this cat out, please send them this way...they are welcome to tell us, or goto the craigs list itself *which should be the better offer, we're just trying to help these people out*.....if you don't....ignore the post and wank off somewhere else.

FYI, diabetes is not horrible to deal with in a cat. I've dealt with this before and the injections are exceedingly easy to do. You can get the supplies for cheap by buying in bulk too. At breakfast and dinner you just grab the scruff of their neck and inject the correct amount. Real quick and the cat doesn't really even notice. I hope his diabetes doesn't keep people from being interested in this beautiful boy.

P.S. If your parents want him and are willing to work with it, why not see if there is a young responsible neighbor who they can train to give Garth his injections when they are not there? That's what we did.

my parents both commute over an hour to work, and worry that their schedules may not be able to coordinate 5 days a week. they have a petsitter who comes when they go on vacation (which is rare) because they have 4 other cats. but my mom (who was a registered nurse) just doesn't want to take on another cat that they may not be able to give 100% attention to.

if no one else comes forward, i will most likely take garth as a temporary resident. we just want to avoid that because my fiance is allergic (4 is already a test for him) and has asthma (not to mention we're both worried we'll get "stuck" with garth and be unable to place him), and we'll be leaving town in the second week of june for our honeymoon. i'm also going to be in the lab a lot due to me research, and he works 10 hour days 4 days a week.

and lutra is right. diabetes isn't a big problem as long as injections are kept on schedule, and they're very easy to give. vials also last a long time due to low injection volumes, so it's not a constant draining of funds.

any idea how he is with dogs and other cats? i have a playful 2 year old kitty and i have a german shepherd puppy who is alright with cats. i'm trying to teach the dog how to play gently with cats (she gets a little rough and doesn't realize my cat can't play that hard, but my cat doesn't stand up for herself, usually smacks her once and runs away..... and then the dog thinks she's playing and chases her.) otherwise, if its a cat that will stand its ground with the dog, then she totally respects them and doesn't mess with them much. if he's good with both dogs and cats, i'd be willing to adopt him in august. i'd love to take him now, but i can't with my roomate

and btw, need a petsitter when you go on your honeymoon? i petsit and i'm available then

i don't know how he does with others, but i mentioned my cats and dog and she didn't seem concerned at all. he's very relaxed, so i don't see it being a problem.

ans we've already got a petsitter for our honeymoon. my dad is staying in our apt to watch the cats (bugs/spiders will be fine for a week), and the dog is staying with mj's parents and their dog.

oh, and it's 66 spiders, 43 scorpions, and misc insects.
