Unfortunately, no, there really aren't, not that I've found. I've just found that randomly sticking in stuff and seeing how it looks is about the best way to figure it out. PM me if you want more advice, mang 4/23/2007 12:37:31 PM |

its just not very friendly. when you're drawing lines and need zig-zag lines, etc . . . its odd. also how do you open up a new set of stencils in the visio application? 4/23/2007 7:01:53 PM |

for flowcharts omnigraffle is way better than visio.
but for network diagrams, visio pretty much owns the world 6/28/2007 12:29:17 PM |

is omnigraffe free for mac. i may try that. i have to do a huge network diagram that's almost 5 sites in the Everglades and I'd rather use anything but visio. visio is just a pain in the ass for complex diagrams. 6/28/2007 9:54:06 PM |

and in amsterdam's world, a complex diagram would be a router and switch. 6/29/2007 6:41:28 AM |

nah, G. it's complex. it's a RF line between sites, a PIX, 3750's . . . CallManager Subscribers, VLANs, etc. it's pretty hardcore. the Everglades national park is all Cisco. I did the deployment. i worked out there for 3 months. 6/29/2007 10:30:59 AM |

so i can create hyperlinks that link to other pages in my visio files
how do i make that action happen on a double click of the shape
there is no way to choose what shape that it goes to when i select the option under behavior
it just gives me the page not page\shape.000
the code calls a fuck ton of sub routines and i have a page for each, so if you want to find out what the routine does, just double click
i dont want the user to have to right click and select the hyperlink from the drop down menu 7/2/2007 10:24:10 AM |

i have over 60 pages so i dont want to copy and paste because i have foreground and background pages 7/25/2007 2:07:24 PM |

probably the worst solution:
Quote : | "Split a multiple-page drawing into separate drawings If you have to reduce the file size of a multiple-page drawing to transfer it electronically, or if you have to save the drawing to a floppy disk, consider saving each page of your Visio drawing as a separate drawing. Use the Save As command to split the multiple-page drawing into several files. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Open the Visio drawing. 2. On the File menu, click Save As, type a new file name, and then click OK.
For example, type filename_pageX.vsd, where filename is the name of your document, and pageX is the page number. 3. Repeat step 2 for each page of your drawing.
For example, save page 1 as filename_page1.vsd, and save page 2 as filename_page2.vsd. 4. For each new Visio drawing file, delete the other pages that do not correspond with the file name. Right-click the Page tab for the page that you want to delete, and then click Delete Page.
For example, if your drawing has four pages, and you open the filename_page2.vsd file, delete pages 1, 3, and 4. 5. On the File menu, click Save, and then repeat these steps for each drawing. " |
anyone have anything else?
