We need to figure out a way to get the community and the police talking.

People who live in these impoverished neighborhoods for the most part work jobs and want a safe place to raise their children. And there are a few punks terrorizing them and their neighborhood. But because of something that had happened to them or someone they know, the people don't trust the police enough to call them and cooperate with them.

Take "victimless crime," for example. It's really easy for me to sit back and say, "Oh, it's a victimless crime. People should be allowed to do what they want with their bodies." But I'm not the one who has to live with drug addicts breaking into my home for $20, who can't sleep cause men blaring loud music come through for prostitutes at 3am, or who doesn't feel safe allowing my children out to play... It's never gonna happen in my neighborhood.

I say we crack the fuck down on all the easy victimless crime shit. And watch as the other crimes decrease too. Make people feel safe again. Help them take some pride in their community to where they feel like the criminals don't belong. And then maybe they'll feel like cooperating with the police.

All the prostitutes, the pimps, the addicts, the dealers...they all have stories that'll break your heart. But we cannot allow them to take it out on the children in the communities they populate. They need to be in their place...a district just for them and their business...or rehab/prison.

To sum up...

If you have no pride in your community, if you don't feel like you deserve to be safe, you're not going to feel compelled to cooperate with the police.

Most poor people move, like, a billion times a year anyway...they don't care whether or not criminals are caught and punished. Cause they feel like they're own their own.

4. don't care about police/criminals/crime/anything but myself and my family
5. "shyness"
6. lack of trust/faith in the police
7. lack of pride in the community
8. general, social attitude towards the police (you just don't talk to them like you don't touch a hot stove)
