Like it said, what's the cheapest laptop that I can get that can run WoW smoothly?
I found this Acer for less than $600: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-Aspire-15-4-Widescreen-Notebook-PC-5100-3357/sem/rpsm/oid/176217/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do#tabs
But there's also some good deals on dell laptops on http://www.gotapex.com/
Any idea whats the minimum I would need to run WoW with decent graphics?
Thanks peeps! 4/24/2007 1:00:19 PM |

uhhh, doesn't the box have minimum and recommended hardware requirements on it?
Minimum System Requirements
Windows® System 2000/XP OS:
* Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz * 512 MB or more of RAM * 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above * DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers * 6.0 GB available HD space * 4x CD-ROM drive * A 56k or better Internet connection
Mac® OS X 10.3.9:
* 933 MHz or higher G4, or G5, or Intel processor * 512 MB RAM or higher; DDR RAM recommended * ATI or NVIDIA® video hardware with 32 MB VRAM or more * 6.0 GB available HD space * 4x CD-Rom drive * 56k or better Internet connection
*Note: Due to potential programming changes, the Minimum System Requirements for this game may change over time.
Recommended Specifications
Windows® System 2000/XP OS:
* Intel Pentium® IV 1.5 GHz or AMD XP 1500+ MHz * 1024 MB RAM * 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above * Broadband Internet connection * Two-button scroll-wheel mouse
Mac® OS X 10.3.9 or newer:
* 1024 MB RAM or higher; DDR RAM recommended * ATI or NVIDIA® video hardware with 64 MB VRAM or more * Broadband Internet connection
so i'd go with 1.8ghz+ speed, at least a gig (preferably 2) of ram, and a 128mb graphics card with a new-ish core.....
done...

the cheapest thing i found about 10 months ago was a dell inspiron b130. free 1g RAM upgrade. i think the grand total was right at $540 after shipping, etc. it does everything i need it to do. internet/movies/music/tv/quickbooks. i think it's a 1.8 celeron, but i can't remember for sure. 4/24/2007 1:37:18 PM |

Why would you buy the acer when that dell is significantly better for the same price. 4/25/2007 10:02:06 AM |

retards, I dont need performance, I need cheap and functional. Its not going to be my main computer. Its not like I need something to run super-graphic games on or anything. I want to put some of my tax refund into my retirement account, not blow it all on a super-laptop that Id only use 10% of what it was capable of. 4/25/2007 10:45:29 PM |

wait wait.
so you can pay 600 for a cheap acer
or you can pay 600 for a dell with better performance.
and the acer is the better choice here? 4/26/2007 9:47:45 AM |
