Trying to match your accent to the people you're around is a natural, instinctual behavior. There is a point where it becomes ridiculous (if you try too hard), but it shouldn't irk you in general.

I've kinda wondered about that. It has happened before in U.S. politics where a politician's wife ran as a surrogate candidate for Governor for their husband, who was disbarred from seeking another term. George Wallace's wife in Alabama, Ma Ferguson in Texas.

Part of the reason our country declared independence from Britain was to get away from the idea that people of certain families have a divine right to rule from birth. I hope Hillary loses the Democratic nod and I don't want to hear of anyone with the name "Clinton" or "Bush" in connection with the presidency or the vice-presidency again for the next 50 years. If Hillary wins the nomination, does everyone realize the last time a Bush or Clinton would've not been on the ballot would be 1976?
