i wish other companies like newegg did this like western digital does for failed hard drives. they send you the replacement item first with a credit card on hold for the amount it's worth, then you can send your defective item back after you receive the new one. you have a month before you get charged.
although i'm sure there is potential for lots of abuse, it's a nice system for the customer and with a valid credit card number and address you could track down whoever it was that abused it usually.
i have to RMA some RAM but i can't go without it in my system so i've got to find like a week where i'm not going to use it or something and send it off to newegg. that's kind of messed up.
