OK, so since this current apartment won't be mine any more we went and bought an apartment next door. And now I still need to find a roommate! I'm asking on here because I'm looking for someone geeky that plays video games and keeps a clean house. Male/female I have no preference.

I haven't figured out the exact move-in date yet (we don't own the apartment yet and don't know what we're going to fix/paint/exorcise demons from, so it might be sooner or a little later than that), and I'm fairly sure (fairly, not entirely) that the rent will be $350 a month. It might be a little less than that, we haven't figured out what the old rent rates were yet. As for utilities, I'm going to get road runner, digital cable w/ a dvr, and there'll be water and electric too, all that should come out to about $125 a month for you.

The complex is Avery Close, and I'm afraid I can't show you the apartment yet. I'll BTTT this thread as I go with pictures and a time when I could walk you through it (though it will be a bit of time before I have them). Allow me to describe it though:

The complex has a pool and assigned parking. Parking is difficult for guests, though they can (quite honestly) park next door at Ivy Commons and walk about 300 ft to this apartment (or they can park on Crest and hike about an eighth of a mile). You'll have a bedroom with a private shower/tub and toilet in a separate room with a sink with a large vanity mirror in your room (lots of space next to the sink as well). The closets aren't huge walk-ins or anything, but they're big enough to store your clothes. Bedrooms are decent in size, big enough for a queen bed and some furniture with room to walk around. The apartment has a stacked washer/dryer unit and the complex has a laundromat if you need to wash something a bit bigger than what will fit in the stacked unit. The place comes with a full kitchen and all the appliances will be working. The carpet and walls will be clean and freshly painted by the time you move in, and any busted or rancid appliances should be changed before you get there (again, we haven't even inspected the place yet, so I don't have all the answers on what we're having to fix). The dining room and living room flow together pretty well and continue from right next to the kitchen, and the living room is very big. Behind the apartment is a pretty sizeable concrete patio with an outdoor storage closet. Plenty of storage if you need it, I can store some of my stuff at my parent's place in Cary if I have to (and if you don't have anywhere convenient to store stuff). The apartment is walking distance to campus, about the same distance as my current apartment so it's about a 25 minute walk to Mann hall (right in the center of central campus near the engineering buildings). It's also on the wolfline! It's right next door to where I live now, and I think it'll be a safe place to live. It's a nice complex and lots of students live there, though it's not a rancid hell hole (at least it doesn't appear to be from what I've seen ).

I should mention that I know this complex (Avery Close) has gotten bad reviews because of its management. My dad's going to be the landlord, and we'll probably just setup a normal North Carolina lease. There are some restrictions in the apartment complex (like you can't hang towels out to dry on the patio and such) but they're fairly minor. No pets, though. Here's the list of complex rules (we still have to follow them :/ ). http://www.wpminc.net/docs/AVERY%20CLOSE%20RULES.pdf

If you've got living room furniture, you just might be the most awesome person ever (I'm looking to get a big TV this summer and a stand, and I will be getting furniture too if, between us, we don't have enough for the apartment). The only furniture I will really have for the living room is my recliner (a good-condition lazy-boy, mighty comfy), and the dining room table and chairs (brand-new, I got it since we just had it in storage for some reason). Outside of that I have a couple crappy lamps that I'm going to get rid of and replace with new ones. So yeah, if you've got lots of furniture, I'd be happy to help you move. I've got a little jeep and would be happy to help you move your stuff in (assuming we aren't moving you from, say, Richmond, VA or something).

As for me, I like to live clean. I really want to live in a clean apartment with a clean roommate. I'm not ridiculously picky if you have some trash that sits out for a little while, but I don't want a roommate that will leave trash everywhere and just leave junk sitting on the floor for two months and take no responsibility in cleaning it up. Having parties and such is just fine! Highly recommended in fact, I just don't want the place trashed to bits considering my dad's going to end up being the landlord.

And yeah, about myself some more. I'm a guy. I'm also a Junior going on Senior in Civil Engineering. I love me some video games (when I've got the time), but school will always be #1 for me if I have to choose. When it gets down to it I'll keep quiet as can be if either of us has studying to do. If you get stuck in a spot and need a ride somewhere (if your car is broken down or you don't want to pay the $6 to get out of the deck) that's cool, I'd be happy to help out. I'm not a ridiculously crazy person myself. I'm quite friendly, and if I don't feel like being so I'll just be quiet (I can get pretty messed up sometimes from my diabetes, I usually just keep to myself until I feel better). I also do an excellent Wilford Brimley impression. I spend most of my time at work or at school (I work during the school year), and when I'm here I stick to watching TV or playing/working/screwing around on my computer.

If, through all this babbling, you still are interested in being my roommate, then send me a private message or send me an e-mail! ablong_at_ncsu.edu

I'd be happy to meet with you to see if we'd be good together as roommates. PM me if you have any other questions and I'll try to answer them as best I can.
