I'm graduating this semester and I'm thinking about pursuing a lateral entry teaching position, so I'd like to take a couple of education courses over this summer. Has anyone done something similar to this before who could tell me how it works? 4/29/2007 7:52:16 PM |

why don't you just enroll in an actual lateral entry program 4/29/2007 8:54:12 PM |

Mostly because I think you have to first secure a position and most counties (or at least the ones I plan to apply in) don't do hiring until summer sessions have already been in session for a while. 4/30/2007 1:16:40 AM |

Do you even know which courses to enroll in?
I'd contact one of the two people at the bottom of this page and go talk to them. http://ced.ncsu.edu/teachered/alternative_teaching.html 4/30/2007 2:12:57 AM |

im pretty sure you can just get a pin and register for summer courses even though you just graduated. I took an econ class during the summer after I graduated/ before I came back for grad school in the fall. 4/30/2007 2:34:58 AM |

State offers a "licensure only" program through the education office. I just finished and got my license last week. Also they work with the "Teach4NC" program. You don't have to have a job to do either program. 4/30/2007 6:16:25 PM |
