My m-i-l is looking for a retirement job and really wants to work at B&N. The applications say that MS Access skills are necessary and she wants me to teach her. My question - what sorts of specific Access skills are they looking for? I assume she won't need to know VB, just the basics of relational db structure & reporting? Thanks in advance! 5/9/2007 9:05:04 PM |

She doesn't need to know access skills if she's a bookseller. Is she applying for a staff office position? Like school coordinator or something?
It's a great place for more retirement age ladies to work - my mother got a part time job there and absolutely loves it. 5/10/2007 9:09:07 AM |

Thanks for the advice - I'll just give her a basic rundown and she can take it from there. She's very proficient with Excel so I don't think she'll have problems with anything she might have to do there. 5/10/2007 9:38:37 AM |
