I had a girlfriend who I loved dearly. I used to write her love letters, throwing in quotes from various poets from time to time.

Then she broke my heart and immolated my soul.


I do have an ex girlfriend who is a great girl. I never treated her well and years later she's still hung up on me. She writes me letters from time to time, on stationary with van gogh paintings and the like. The letters are beautifully written, and she sprays her perfume on them.


People are fucked up.

When I got in the mood to write, I usually wrote 7-8 page letters that didn't work.

Once I wrote one that was 31 pages...it only sort of worked.

Emails are okay in a pinch, but that's like giving someone a mix CD instead of a tape for their birthday.

If you really love someone, you handwrite them a letter.

More importantly, letters typed on a computer suck ass. A typewritten letter can be weirdly romantic, but it's mostly weird.
