I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this could potentially be awesome. If they get a good makeup artist and try to limit the CG to a minimum, I can see this working.
That says nothing of the script and directing, however. One can only hope? 6/6/2007 12:01:05 PM |

i love me some thundercats animation, but the old stories and scripts were ass-tastic, so it could only get better

So who would the cast be?
Pantrho: Lawrence Fishburne? Ving Rhames? Jaga: Sean Connery? Mumra: Willem Dafoe?

my problem is that they keep making these movies with fucking g,pg,pg-13 ratings . if you remember the ninja turtles, thundercats, transformers ,etc. you're old enough to see splinter bleed or april o'neil's titties. 6/6/2007 2:10:12 PM |

We'll see how the Transformers movie turns out. If it turns out to be decent, then there is a chance that a Thundercats movie could be good. 6/6/2007 2:32:04 PM |

Thundercats always seemed pretty lame to me. I mean, to have an interesting show, you want your heroes to be outmatched against the villains in some way, either in quantity (Ninja Turtles vs foot soldiers) or in quality (X-men vs the Juggernaut bitch!). The Thundercats were not only better fighters than the bad guys, but they also outnumbered them. 6/6/2007 6:13:44 PM |

I'm gonna have to go ahead and say pass on Thundercats. Nostalgia aside, the premise for the show was really nonsense. A bunch of evolved man-cats led by a guy named Lion-ho, who possesses a phallic sword, make a living by fighting an evil mummy on a planet called 3rd Earth. Btw, was Mum-ra a cat also, or a human mummy?
If anything at all, maybe Tcats could score a hit as cgi animation, but it would really need a beefed up story. 6/7/2007 11:29:47 AM |

Meh. It's about as plausible as an elite army having trouble finding and eliminating terrorists that hide out in massive temples shaped like a snake head. Why a terrorist organization that can afford to make a snake themed amusement park out of a pyramid even thinks it needs fight to acquire more assets is beyond me.

So 20 years from now we can all look forward to CSI, Survivor, Deal or no Deal, etc. movies to fill the gap of movies like Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels, Dukes of Hazzard, etc. and live action versions of Xiaolin Showdown, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. to fill the gap of movies like Transformers, Thundercats, etc. 6/8/2007 7:32:49 AM |
