I have a 36gb Raptor I want to install. I wanted to set it up as dual boot with xp pro 64bit and xp pro 32. 32bit just in case anything I had didn't work with 64.
So how much space should I allocate for each? Like I said i'm mostly going to be using the 64bit verison, 32 is just a safety net in case something doesn't work. The drive is just going to be used for OS, programs, and files for programs like maya, painter, and photoshop. Other than that I have plenty of space for storage on other drives.

OS alone i allocate 15-20gb and only use the OS partition for small program files and programs i don't need backed up, i then have a 40-50gb partition for programs so i can wipe my OS at any time and not lose most of my settings (except for the few that are in Docs&Settings)
36gb is pushing it for two OS's i think... you may want to keep the 32-bit where it is if you are going to use the 64-bit most of the time anyways. 6/8/2007 11:41:02 PM |
