no, not really, the only thing that ever stopped working for me was the update checker, but that's good now. Though I only use about 5-6 plugins, including the adblock pro, if anybody has the old adblock get rid of it and grab Pro because it's got subscriber lists that have blocked virtually all adds on every page i've surfed to recently. 6/11/2007 5:14:03 PM |

i mean. what's the point? 6/11/2007 5:33:46 PM |

I think that's the other way around and firefusk is working with firefox 2.0.0.4 on my computer
I had firefox crash while at work today and I had to re-update my 3 plugins, fix the theme and I think I lost all my auto input things that I had before, but other than that I've never had a problem with it.] 6/11/2007 5:44:59 PM |

get Foxit Reader as a PDF replacement, its free, and it always works http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php

last week I had some crazy spyware on my laptop which broke Firefox for me, it turns out I had this Virtumundo program
I'd recommend going through the Malware removal and prevention stuff here: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal_and_Prevention:_Overview
And as a last resort, uninstall, and reinstall Firefox and your plugins 6/12/2007 10:47:40 AM |

I don't suppose there is a program which will convert PFD files into, say, jpg or doc type, cause ever since Ive known what Adobe files are I have hated them:
- PDFs have been known to crash my firefox and IE back when I used it. - When they don't crash they are slow as fucking sin. - Hell even when you download them and open them they are still goddamn slow. It takes my computer about 10 seconds to start word the first time, it takes 30-40 seconds for Adobe. And those Wolfline PDFs are going to be the death of me they are slower than shit flowing uphill on sandpaper. - These files are often HUGE!... What the hell I can get 1MB homework assignments that are 2 pages with a couple B&W drawings. - You can't edit them without using the real version on campus or paying out the ass... fuck that even harder.
Whoever invented this should be dragged into the street and shot.6/12/2007 6:38:28 PM |

Safari fucking blows goat testicles. It's the worst of the big 4 (IE, FF, Opera, Safari). It has so many quirks in it's rendering engine, it's infuriating to develop for. It also renders balls ass slow. 8/19/2007 12:19:57 AM |

I've got only two big annoyances with safari
- It will "hang" while "Contacting www.[website].com" and after a minute or so, load the page. I've spent hours trying to figure out what's going on. Sniffing my NIC shows that no data is even being TX or RXed by Safari. It just sits there spinning the pinwheel of death. This never happens in firefox. It's intermittent, so it's not a huge problem, but sometimes i need to pull something up fast and i'm stuck waiting or having to open up another browser.
- It's incompatible with certain types of pages, mostly internal web-based apps that I use at work. I don't think I've ever had a problem with any site on the public web.
But, firefox, shiira, opera, and others have their own quirks, so I pretty much have to use a multi-browser solution to cover all bases. The good part about this is that some of those internal webapps I was referring to have poor exception handling (yay oracle) and cause browser crashes fairly often, and it doesn't wipe out *everything*
I guess if i had a PC, i could just use IE, since all of these fucking things are developed specifically for IE.

^^"It will "hang" while "Contacting www.[website].com" and after a minute or so, load the page. "
That's it's renderer. It's absolute garbage. Usually the hangs happen if there's an embedded object making a resource call (aka flash+remote resource). But it also goes apeshit for a lot of AJAX pages too.
^Maybe for you, maybe in the new beta. But every previous version has been balls ass slower and worse than firefox on OSX. The windows version is exactly the same from my platform testing. 8/19/2007 11:09:51 AM |

Firefox doesn't like TWW. I have to restart (kill forcibly) Firefox after about every 30 mins if I log into TWW. The URL's stop being clickable and it stops loading images. Even Command-Q doesn't work.
I am not sure if this is a TWW issue or Firefox. 8/19/2007 11:13:42 AM |

Safari has pretty much quit working on my laptop, and it usually happens when I try to submit a form or something. For example, when I login to Gmail, I authenticate with my Username and Password, and when I click 'Login' it redirects and just stops with a blank white page. This happens more often than not, even after reinstalling the browser.
I know that isn't typical behavior, and before this happened I never really had any major issues with Safari. I do experience the hanging beachball every now and then.
While I use Opera exclusively on my Windows desktop, I don't use Opera on the Mac. I just can't seem to get the same feel for it as I do on my PC. Firefox is very slow on my almost-3-year-old Powerbook, so recently I've been using Camino a lot. It's fast and works great. 8/19/2007 12:32:41 PM |
