I think someone played a joke on me, because every time I type the word 'and', it automatically changes to 'You're being watched'. I know there is a way to create these "shortcuts"...does anyone know how I can change this?
Thanks. 6/13/2007 9:51:46 AM |

does it only happen in Word or a particular program? You're being watched OMG IT'S HAPPENING TO ME TOO! 6/13/2007 9:54:28 AM |

ok well i'm going to assume this is happening in Word. Go to Tools > Macro > Macros and you should see a list of Macros there. Maybe you'll see on that that's labeled "OMG THIS IS A FUNNY PRANK" or whatever. just select it and hit Delete 6/13/2007 9:58:59 AM |

Check the dictionary of whatever software you are using. For instance Word has a feature that auto corrects common misspellings. You can edit that list and replace any word with whatever you want to show up. For instance I have b/c automatically changed to because so I don't have to type as many characters. Someone could have edited that list and made and "auto correct" to You're being watched. 6/13/2007 10:07:17 AM |

It happens in word and powerpoint (and outlook). I'm trying to mess with the Macros thing. I assume it would be under 'Word Commands', in the dropdown box? 6/13/2007 10:23:39 AM |

...and excel, apparently, so all the Msft applications. The macros route doesn't seem to be working. The custom dictionary doesn't either...hmmm 6/13/2007 10:26:18 AM |

look in your Start menu or the Add/Remove programs window to see if you see any programs that have recently been installed that you don't recognize
^ but it doesn't seem to be doing it in FireFox/IE? because you wrote "and" right there
