didnt see it posted and I kno its nascar but hey its sports talk news
fans will hate this, the Dale Sr. lovers all Hate Gordon as evidence by his beer shower after his victory to surpass Dale Sr.
seems like a GREAT move for JR. though who now may get the cars to be in contention week in and week out.
question is...how will Dale Jr. fans react to having Gordon as a teammate? 6/13/2007 6:54:05 PM |

They will still boo him when he passes jr., but will cheer him when he bump drafts jr for the win.
Its kinda crazy that about 75% of the fans are gonna be for hendrick drivers. 6/13/2007 6:59:47 PM |

man i couldn't fathom this when I saw it. Can't imagine an earnhardt ever being teammates with gordon, even though it's a good move for him. Hopefully it's one of these "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer deals."

Yeah Dale Jr is just winning and dominating like JJ and Jeff. We will find out next year how good these Hendrick cars really are and if Dale Jr can drive or not.6/14/2007 12:04:34 AM |

I think it was said on PTI, but I agree and want to echo what they said.
Having a great team with most of the talent (read: Yankees, old Bulls, Hendrick) creates an atmosphere of competition. People always want to dethrone these teams and thus try as hard as they can. In truth I think this can only help the sport because now people will be constantly gunning for Johnson/Mears/Gordon/Jr instead of cheering for Jr b/c they hate Gordon or some other form of that scenario. 6/14/2007 12:08:11 AM |

agreed, cept for the 2 least favorite drivers part since jr. is replacing one of em. johnson's right there next in line though.

i definitely think this move will show us if it's the cars or if jeff/jj just really are that good, however next year may be too early to really make that call for sure. yeah it's still a chevy, but there could be a bit of an adjustment to be made for jr. and he may get off to a slow start there, never know. i'd say we'll have our answers within the next 1-3 years or so though.6/14/2007 6:12:36 AM |

I don't think this will last as long as people think. Think back to Roush a couple years back. He had back to back cup winners in Kenseth and Bush. It seemed like those two guys or Greg Biffle won every race during that time. But that is all it lasted. Bush left, Biffle fell off the map, Jaime McMurry is just an underwear model in a racing suite, Kenseth is still dominant but that is about it for Roush. I bet the same thing happens hear. A couple good years before Jeff Gordon gets tired of being in the shadown of Jr. and JJ and decides he needs to race for his own team.
Kyle Bush is the wrong choice to boot out though if it comes to that. He is a much better driver than Mears. I hope Roush is able to pick him up when Biffle leaves for DEI. 6/14/2007 7:49:27 AM |

KB would be a great premiere driver for Ginn Racing. Especially if he would listen to mark martin and learn how to simmer down some.
Jayski is reporting KB is already in negotiations with DEI but I have a hard time believing that especially with all of the Biffle/DEI reports.
I can almost assure you he wont be driving for Roush. 6/14/2007 8:50:32 AM |

Kyle Busch will not drive for Roush I can promise yall that. Jr hasn't made the best move. Some of the Loyal die hard Nascar fans of his are turning against him out their hate for Gordon. You have to understand True die hard nascar fans do not forgive drivers for moves like this. Unlike other sports Nascar fans willpick one drive and only pull for him for as long as their career goes on. I think Jr will stay popular with the new pop fan base but will find a loss in his die hard fan base. The team can not support 3 Top name drivers In the words of Ricky Bobby If you ain't first your last! and the other drivers don't want to be 2nd or 3rd. 6/14/2007 9:03:54 AM |

I like this move because it pisses all of the Gordon haters off. I have always been a Gordon fan but I have nothing against Jr and will have no problem pulling for him. It will be interesting to see how they work together. And I don't think Gordon is in anybody's shadow or will be anytime soon. Even if he is, he seems to be handling it just fine. 6/14/2007 9:27:06 AM |

not really a fan of Gibbs as an owner, but i do like the 20 and 11 car. Stewart and Jr. are good friends and race very well together. I would have liked to seen them on the same team but its all good. They'll still kick ass together drafting on the superspeedways. 6/14/2007 10:06:15 AM |

Will still pull for Jr. and still hate Gordon.
However, I will say this early on for all the people that are going to bash Jr. if he doesn't win his first 5 races. It could take some time for him to get adjusted to the new team/car. Don't bash him off gates! 6/15/2007 12:59:22 PM |

Alright, well let me ask this...who isn't a WalMart NASCAR fan? There can be WalMart UNC fans, because they didn't go there, nor have family members that went there. But how can there be a WalMart NASCAR fan? It's not like they attend some institution in which the driver is their mascot. I mean, I guess you could buy Budweiser and be a legitimate Jr. fan. But you get the point...
Now, there can be bandwagon fans, which is what I think you meant to say. And, in which case, I am not, because my grandfather, father, and family has always pulled for the Earnhardt family. 6/15/2007 2:36:13 PM |

thats what i brought up in nascar thread. Nascar and jayski are reporting it as an endorsement deal much like what they have with Peyton Manning. I don't think they will be sponsoring his new ride. 6/22/2007 11:04:54 AM |

yeah its still up in the air on whether or not it will be the main car artwork sponsor or not, but a lot of people think it will
course computers/electronics werent exactly big nascar sponsors back when Sr. was racing...if they had been maybe he wouldve had a different sponsor 6/22/2007 11:22:00 AM |
