I did a search, but the threads that I saw were old. Suggest some songs that I should add to my library. Please no gangsta rap. Pretty much anything before 1995. Here's some of the songs I have right now.

A Tribe Called Quest - Award Tour, Bonita Applebum, Can I Kick It, Check The Rhyme, Electric Relaxation, Find A Way, Hot Sex On A Platter, I Left My Wallet In El Segundo, Oh My God, Scenario

3rd Bass - Pop Goes The Weasel, The Gas Face

Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force - Looking For The Perfect Beat, Planet Rock

Beastie Boys - well you name it I've got it

Big Daddy Kane - Ain't No Half-Steppin', Set It Off, Smooth Operator

Cypress Hill - Insane In The Membrane, How I Could Just Kill A Man (got some other stuff of there's but it's newer than 1995)

De La Soul - Me, Myself, and I

Digital Underground - All Around the World (Same Song), The Humpty Dance

Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick - The Show

Eric B. and Rakim - I Know You Got Soul, Microphone Fiend, Paid In Full, Check Out My Melody, Don't Sweat The Technique, Eric B. For President, I Ain't No Joke, In The Ghetto, Juice, Move The Crowd, Pump Up The Volume

Grand Master Flash - a fair amount of his stuff

House of Pain - Jump Around

J.J. Fad - Supersonic

Kurtis Blow - Basketball

Boogie Down Productions - South Bronx, Step Into A World

LL Cool J - Around The Way Girl, Going Back To Cali, I Need Love, I'm Bad

Naughty By Nature - Feel Me Flow

Pete Rock and CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You

PM Dawn - Set Adrift On Memory Bliss

Whodini - Freaks Come Out At Night

Wreckx n Effect - Rumpshaker

Young MC - Bust A Move

two of my longtime favorites. Well, pre-Plain Rap pharcyde.

I've always been partial to the Pete and CL releases, too.

What about the Fat Boys? I remember watching one of those old hip hop movies, perhaps Krush Groove, back in the day, and they were in it. Ooh speaking of gravity challenged rappers, Heavy D is one that comes to mind. Also Kid N' Play had some decent songs.

Poor Righteous Teachers - Holy Intellect (Rock Dis Funky Joint, Poor Righteous Teachers)
not before 1995, but try Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein (Atoms, The F Word, Pigeons)
Showbiz and A.G. - Runaway Slave (any song)
Lord Finesse - Funky Technician (any song)
Big L - Lifestyles Ov Da Poor and Dangerous (Put It On, Da Graveyard, Lifestyles of da Poor and Dangerous)
to expand: Scarface - The Diary has a song called "No Tears" that is fucking great, give that a shot too

check out Scarface's debut as well (Mr. Scarface, Born Killer, Money and the Power), he ain't the king of the South for nothing

www.allmusic.com to to check out the albums listed, this list should be a decent start
