thats a pretty bold and in my opinion, *very* incorrect statement to make. of course blah blah blah i understand the picture difference between CRT and LCD and how CRT picture is inherently 'better'. However, there are lots of VERY high quality LCD displays out there these days that nearly negate the picture quality difference between CRTs and LCDs for most applications. On top of that, your CRT is 17". I dont care if there is a 10" CRT with amazing picture quality out there if it is 10" id rather have a 20" LCD.

For my main monitor i went from a 20" CRT to a high quality 22" widescreen LCD and I couldnt be happier. sure i still have the CRT around but i hardly notice ANY picture difference while using the LCD for photoshop, gaming, and regular computer usage. and on top of that i have a ton more screen space and desk space. And thus, I feel that the lcd im using now is 'superior'. there are a lot more things to consider than CRT vs generic LCD before saying something is 'superior'.

also, while writing this, this quote crossed my mind
Quote :
"
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Hell Harold, you could just eat nothing but pancakes if you wanted.
Harold Crick: What is wrong with you? Hey, I don't want to eat nothing but pancakes, I want to live! I mean, who in their right mind in a choice between pancakes and living chooses pancakes?
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes.
