ok, i'm moving to a city that only allows 2 pets per household. I will have 4, including my dog and her dog.

Need to find a good home for my two cats or they will be shot by the police (well, taken to the pound anyway)

In reference to Cary, it no longer regulates the number of dogs per household and never regulated the number of cats per household.

This is all that I was able to find about it online, but I know for certain that they decided to do away with the limit because it was referenced in a newspaper article.

post the cats on craigslist or bring them to the SPCA.

don't abandon them by putting them outside to fend themselves against feral cats who will probably terrorize them or where they can get hit by a car.

things happen and whatever your story is (honestly I don't care), the cats deserve better. just don't get another pet if you're not going to be commited to it.

rocky mount has a pet limit and has for a long time. 2 dogs, 2 cats, that's it. you can however apply for an exception as long as your neighbors and vet sign off on it.
