If the officer writes down info wrong on the vehicle you were driving, is that automatic grounds for dropping?
For instance, if he writes down the color of your vehicle incorrectly? Like mine is silver and he listed it as being brown. 6/21/2007 2:42:27 PM |

I've seen them do the math wrong in the blank for age. They wrote the age down as 10 years younger than it should have been.
Why is there a blank for age to begin with? 6/21/2007 2:48:13 PM |

Yeah.... how would it not be real?
If a lazy-ass cop is going to sit at the bottom of a hill where the speed limit changes from 55-35 mph and try and justify his "job" by writing bullshit speeding tickets, he should have all his ducks in a row. There is a blatant difference between an ommission (forgetting to sign) and an absolute false piece of information (wrong truck color). Hell, he could have been looking at another truck for all I know. 6/21/2007 3:14:52 PM |

Sure, go to court and watch the judge laugh at you when you present that as your defense. Just because the cop happens to make a mistake in writing the ticket doesn't exscuse you from breaking the law. 6/21/2007 3:23:40 PM |

It won't help. I had one where the officer charged me with careless and reckless, but he wrote the wrong general statute number. I thought for sure my lawyer would have a field day with that, but he said they won't go for the the "technicalities" thing like you see in the movies.

if he was mistaken on the color you could argue he pulled the wrong car......probably won't work, but ask a lawyer just in case.6/21/2007 3:38:52 PM |
