Metric shit ton of writing to do over the next few days. Want something to break up the monotony without words to interfere with my train of thought. Already have a few ideas of my own, just curious as to what you guys use/recommend. Genre doesn't matter. 6/24/2007 12:13:33 AM |

Stars of the Lid and Their Refinement of the Decline download "Even If You're Never Awake (Deuxieme)" for a sample
awesome drone ambient
Elvium's Copia is great too but at the opposite end of the ambient spectrum. Little more in your face almost reaching to the point of pure instrumental.

Amac DEFINITELY has the right train of thought going. Post-rock genre will get you far with this intention.
Also, I've been listening to true ambient like William Basinski lately, his "melancholia" will put you in another dimension. PM me for more on both genres, Ill give you all the links you need 6/24/2007 1:31:24 AM |

God beat me to it.
I like it sometimes when I am up late and I don't feel like the trance or vocal trance channels and I want something there but kinda chill. 6/24/2007 12:58:03 PM |

Not exactly ambient, but studying to Boards of Canada and Amon Tobin gets me A's!!! Oh, and Autechre, too.
