Ok.. I once ran Windows XP.. it was on drive C: Its on the primary/master IDE channel
Then i installed a 2nd HD (serial) and reinstalled Windows XP onto the new HD. so now i have a drive F: which holds my main Windows XP installation and all my stuff. Its goofy that F: is main, but it is what it is and its been working so far.
I now want to format the old HD (C and install linux on it. I want to dual boot WinXP (new HD) and linux (old HD)
The problem is windows is still booting the boot.ini from the C: drive..
When i install linux (ubuntu) will its boot loader config be able to sort this out? 6/24/2007 10:05:03 PM |

You should be able to make the SATA the primary drive, and the computer will boot from that.
I am not sure, but I think the bootloader too should be able to handle that situation (no reason not to, but these things can be picky). 6/25/2007 12:23:24 AM |
