I just saw that University Suites is advertising on this website now and I just wanted to give some firsthand info on them. After living there for two years I would absolutely not recommend this place. When you go there and tour the model home it will be filled with nice furniture that they say you can rent if you would like. The furniture they show you and what you get is completely different. I realize they can't give you the exact furniture in the model. But the furniture we got was terrible, it was the hardest couch you have ever been on. It reminded me of the furniture you would see in an elementary schools principal's office. The utility package is terrible. They only offer you this awful NTC cable service which is satellite. If it rains or is couldy expect to see the "can not find signal screen". We called multiple times over two years and had the NTC people come out and nothing got fixed. As far as the electricity bill goes it was next to impossible to stay under the cap. And the most frustrating thing to do is to have to mail a check to their corporate office for a $3.00 overage charge. Because here they do not accept any checks at the office, rent and utility overages must be mailed in. Its just another hassle this place causes. My biggest gripe with University Suites is that I constantly had to go to the office about the billing. There would inevitably be a charge here and there on the bills that came from no where. If you didn't inspect the bill you would be overcharged. For example, on one electricity bill I was charged for a late fee for paying the electricity company late. University Suites payed the electricity bill late and tried to pawn off the late fee on all there tenants. If you weren't paying attention you would have been charged for this. And I know they did this to every single resident there. Now that I have moved out I am still having to deal with bill discrepancies over the move out. I know many of this may seem trivial. But its just the time you have to waste to get things done. After being in a new place I can't believe I put up with this for two whole years.

Just an FYI to any interested residents

And I hope this doesn't get deleted for giving an opinion on a sponsor.

I currently live here, and a lot of what you said is true but some I will dispute.
Yes, the utilities package sucks. BUT, they have always taken our checks here locally if we've had an overage. The one time I saw a late fee on a bill they had already subtracted it out of what we had to pay.

We decided to not get any furniture and it sounds like that was a good choice.
The internet sucks--hopefully we can cancel the equipment package for this coming year so we can have better internet...

As to recommending the place--depends on how you like your neighbors. If you don't mind rowdy neighbors, it's fine. Otherwise I'd live somewhere else.

I lived there for a year. It wasn't THAT bad. I would recommend against the utility package and just divide it among the people living there. That way you can get internet in one room and just get a router to split the costs. You have a choice to get the utility package as well as the furniture.
