ok so we have a wireless network in our house. yesterday we had a storm and my comp restarted. usually when I restart my computer I would have to go into the properties of my usb network adapter and restore them to default to get it to connect. now when I do that it doesn't work. so I uninstalled the drivers and unplugged the adapter. when I plugged the adapter back in and attempted to reinstall the drivers, I got the blue screen of death. I did a system restore, and the same thing happened. I even tried it in safe mode and I still got the blue screen of death when I plugged it in. Any ideas on why it would be doing this and what I can do to fix it? 7/8/2007 9:18:46 AM |

ok sweet, just when I figure out what the original problem is, my computer is so fucked up that when I turn it on the screen is completely black. And yes, the monitor is on. It flashes the Dell startup screen and then goes black. I tried hitting f8 to get it into safemode but it won't let me. 7/8/2007 11:16:12 AM |

if you can see the dell screen at least its not completely screwed you next move is boot up with the OS cd, go into repair console and type fixboot [enter] fixmbr [enter]
thats what i'd do, 7/8/2007 5:16:43 PM |

Yeah I had to boot it with the CD to get it to work. And then I found a new driver for my wireless adapter and after about 10 failed install attempts I put it in safe mode and installed it and it seems to work for now. Thanks for the input though. 7/8/2007 6:14:10 PM |
