I was wondering what classes are interesting or good to take for a Mechanical Engineering Master's. I have been trying to decide between the following classes for the fall semester.....
MAE 504 - Fluid Dynamics of Combustion I MAE 533 - Finite Element Analysis I MAE 742 - Design for Automated Assembly
and
MSE 712 - Scanning Electron Microscopy
And if anyone has taken any other classes that you think are good to take that would be nice to know also.

the good classes are probably going to be the ones that help you with your research 7/9/2007 6:01:55 PM |

MAE 560, 766
and if you survive: MAE 770 or 789

How come finite element analysis I is a grad level class for mechanical engineering students? I took FEA as a junior in aerospace...
I'm assuming (kinda hoping) that the grad level ME course is a lot more detailed... 7/10/2007 8:27:08 AM |

we had an intro to FEA as undergrads as well
but you have to realize that in ME there is a lot more gut feeling because normally weight isnt an issue
i say this as a ME working in the EE dept. in an aerospace design firm
