Seriously, who complains about non-expletive song lyrics so much that they change them?

First it was Black Eyed Peas changing "let's get retarded" to "let's get it started"

Then Black Eyed Peas changing "don't phunk with my heart" to "don't mess with my heart"

and now this stupid shit with Sean Kingston changing "Suicidal" to "in denial."

Was someone this offended? Is there some sort of campaigning group I don't know about?

i like the laser leveling commercial they have on the tee-vee

the first version had the dude vaporizing his wife

the current version just has him knocking her through the wall

i guess they thought that manslaughter wasn't a really good mechanism to sell laser levels

somebody ought to start a website to counter-boycott buisnesses which buckle to some stupid PETA type group at the slightest hint of controversy. I mean they're commercials, its humor duh.

If kids want to kill themselves after listening to a song, then let them.

Go ahead and get the self-pitying emo kids out of the gene pool. This will in turn lead to a smaller emo population in the following generations, forcing the other kids to compete with each other in order to find one to beat up. It will lead to better and stronger Americans and help us to compete with the Chinese.

The record industry is a wholly different beast than it was just a decade ago. Gone are the outrageous rockstars that we grew up with. The days of getting wasted, trashing hotel rooms, having insane parties, and living in excess are over.

The music industry of today would not sign Nirvana, Guns and Roses, or The Sex Pistols. They sign bands who are easily controlled. Pop stars are like athletes. They are trained on what to eat/drink/wear and how to act. If they don't fit the mold then they are out. They sign bands that suck and then they blame other factors for their declining sales.

The Doors didn't change their lyrics. Neither would these other bands if they had any dignity.

I object on the grounds of poor song writing.

"How sad were you?"

"Suicidal, suicidal, suicidal..."

"Oh, man, that is so poetic. You musta been, like, really sad."

But there are a lot of poorly written songs on the radio. This one shouldn't be treated any differently.

But as long as we're on this topic...if you can't say "I wanna stick my dick in your fat ass..." on the radio, then you shouldn't be able to repeat the word suicidal over and over again. But we really shouldn't censor at all...

i dont know anything about the backstreet boys... but considering how many girls were going apeshit over them at the time.... why would they need to buy hookers?

yeah last time i checked the US Bill of rights did not include the

Right to not get offended.

I agree i thought the move by black eyed peas to change "lets get retarted" was one of the biggest sell out moves. No one complains when [insert favorite rapper] raps spittin out nigger every 10 words.

Internet video ad pulled from YouTube was in 'exremely poor taste' says Chrysler.

July 20 2007: 12:51 PM EDT

DETROIT (Reuters) -- Chrysler Group apologized on Thursday for an advertisement that showed a dog being electrocuted beside its new Dodge Nitro sports utility vehicle.

The ad, created by BBDO Netherlands which supports Chrysler's sales in the Dutch market, shows a dog being electrocuted after urinating on a Nitro's wheels. The agency is part of Omnicom Group Inc's BBDO Worldwide.

The ad, which ends with the dog going up in flames, has the tagline "charged with adrenaline." According to Chrysler, the ad was placed exclusively on the Internet."

It sounds funny to me.
