Quote : | " Women nag, men spank. Women have shape tongues, and equally sharp minds, which they can use with great effect. Men have upper body strength. For good or for evil, but use what God gave them. The strong-willed wife will try to outlast her husband's hand on a bare bottom. She will protest to both him and others about some perceived abuse at his hand even when none exists and the punishment was well deserved. However, the wife who has had a significant disciplinary experience from the top of her buttocks to the upper third of her thighs (down to what women of a few generations ago used to call the “stocking line”) will keep the matter to herself. She will bring no further embarrassment upon her house. To the surprise of many, the deserving wife caught compromised across her husband's knees will ask for privacy so he may continue with the task at hand. She will apologize more for her indiscretions than for her husband's punishing her for them. If one's children find out, it is not end of the world. Most children understand more than adults give the credit. In particular, children understand spanking far more than they understand bitterness and divorce. A child who grows up aware that mother submits to father's discipline may be less likely to engage in frivolous and dangerous behavior as they grow older. Even if she has grown children and has remained unpunished since her own childhood, the woman who is ruining her marriage knows she is not “too old”. She knows that vanity, pride in saying “he [her husband] wouldn't dare” is a poor substitute for a loving marriage in which he does, even more frequently than she would wish.
When the husband announces, “It's time”; a wife expects four things that she will vow never to tell her husband. One is to lose her pants early to prove he means business. She expects it “to hurt” sufficiently to make her cry in repentance. She knows that it must get though to her so that there is no doubt in her mind or that of her husband that he is in control. Finally, she expects to feel better after it is over. These she expects her husband to know he well enough to act on this knowledge without her telling him.
To see whether her husband is serious about her and their marriage, women will frequently roll out three sets of stumbling blocks. Each increases in intensity. The first are the preliminary protests. The second are the promises and pleadings when he begins. The third are, although the language may be more blunt, rages of anger at being “treated this way” as he continues. For the husband who conquers all three, there is the promise of peace beyond. Domestic tranquility will be restored.
[...]
There are three basic ways to control a wife. One is to ignore her. Another is to burden her with chores, responsibilities, and work. The final way is to, in a no nonsense fashion, discipline her personally, privately, and memorably. The first method ruins the marriage. The second makes her old. In responsible hands, the third can work miracles.
Long and happy marriages generally mean that the couple crossed the discipline bridge when they came to it rather go their separate ways. Adjectives such as “good” when used to describe her husband or his behavior toward her frequently mean he has taken charge of her more than once or twice during their marriage." |

Quote : | "CONCLUSION
The question posed is “Does a man have the right to spank his wife?” I believe the question to be in error. A better question is should a man, a man to whom God has given talents and responsibilities, let his marriage crumble around him without raising a hand to stop it? My answer is simply no. A man does not have a right to spank his wife. However, he has an obligation to protect his marriage and his sanity even if it means wearing out the woman he loves! When she stands before her husband and asks “why” if he cannot look her in the eyes and honestly say “because I love you more than I love myself” he has no business taking his intentions any further. He is simply play games with his wife, himself, and God. That is probably not the smartest move he can make." |

OK, now this is just FREAKY, esp the first half... I mean, the WIFE ASKING for it???
Introducing Christian Domestic Discipline to Your Spouse
Quote : | "Suggestions for Introducing CDD to Your Husband ---> WTF?
1. Make it clear this is a need of yours, not just some passing fancy. Acknowledge it might sound weird, but up until the middle of the 20th century it was very common, and even today thousands practice CDD.
2. You might tell him you believe God created women to want to feel a man’s strength and authority. It makes her feel more secure and protected. Plus, it gives him an “edge” or “persona” of power that makes him very attractive to you.
3. Explain to him that wanting CDD does not make you a masochist. You simply want him to have true authority in your marriage. Living in the roles God has created for you is the real attraction of CDD, not the pain/punishment. Spankings/punishments are necessary but may not be enjoyable for either party.
4. Point out that CDD marriages are among the best in the world. Couples in these types of relationships report greater intimacy, special closeness, increased trust, and fantastic sex lives in their marriages. (REALLY? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS)
5. You might mention he would have a more definitive voice in the marriage, but don’t make a big deal out of the advantages to him. Most men abhor the thought of causing their wife pain and to do so for their own gain will not sound attractive to him.
Suggestions for Introducing CDD to Your Wife
1. Husbands, you are in a stickier situation. It is one thing to tell your husband you need correction, but it is quite another to tell your wife she needs discipline. Take it slowly. Maybe consider introducing it to her a bit at a time.
2. If she is already committed to living in a Biblical marriage (i.e. husband the head of the household), you are blessed. Explain to her the Biblical justifications for CDD (for more information, see Understanding Christian Domestic Discipline), and gently suggest you use CDD.
3. If she is not committed to living in a Christian marriage, suggest you do a Bible Study together on Biblical roles in marriage.
4. If she is not a Christian, you might consider emphasizing research on CDD marriages that suggest a greater intimacy between the couple, enhanced trust and communication, and great sex lives.
5. Be positive. Tell her what a great wife she is. Tell her you would like to use CDD to make a good marriage even better.
6. Reassure her of your love. Though you might bring her pain during punishment, you would never do her any lasting harm.
7. If she is afraid of spanking or completely set against it, begin with alternative punishments.
8. Suggest you begin CDD in a limited capacity (for example, agree to use only your hand with a ten swat limit) until she is more comfortable with the relationship.
9. Assure her you’re not a sadist, and though you might be turned on by seeing her behind or by her submission to you, you will never gain pleasure from causing her pain.
10. Suggest she join some of the CDD Forums to discuss her fears and reservations with other women who are living in a CDD marriage." |

I'm an atheist and I like spanking
I dislike this because it uses God as an excuse to exercise oppressive power over women
S&M can be practiced as a power "game" but, in my opinion, the details of this game should not represent one's dominant ideology or lifestyle... good sex is about free will and consent 8/20/2007 10:26:56 PM |

The website is so ridiculous, part of me thinks that this has to be either a gag or some bizarre sexual fetish for some tiny subset of people out there. This theory is also reinforced by the giant "This site may contain adult themes and is intended for mature audiences only. Please do not enter if you are under 18 years of age."
If the site's creators are truly serious, then it is a very, very tiny fringe minority. While abuse may occur within the Christian church (or for any organization or religion for that matter), I don't think I've come across anything that even tries to justify this sort of bizarre behavior. 8/21/2007 1:41:00 AM |

Muslim Domestic Discipline ... I think you guys already heard of this concept, so I won't even post links.
Yalls a buncha wierdos. This is not a "Christian" issue. It's a "women's rights/role" issue. You'll find the same concepts not just in different religions, but in different cultures as well. In China, this Christian Domestic Discipline concept would actually make sense (minus the Christian overtones).

it's no surprise really.
when you make fearing sex and demeaning women a pillar of your religious beliefs, you're going to wind up with a lot of people repressing some twisted psychosexual behaviors.
so it's no wonder all these extreme fundamentalists have so many perverse sex scandals coming out of the closet. not to mention all the pedophile rapists in the catholic priesthood. 8/26/2007 2:39:50 AM |

This isn't a religious problem. You see this demeaning of women and distorted perceptions on normal sexual behavior prominently in Arab/Muslim, African, Asian cultures... basically everywhere that men are 8/26/2007 2:46:51 AM |

Religion is a very large portion of what defines pretty much every culture... its easy to attach cultural tendencies to a religion but not correct. For example, people think the horrible treatment of women in Arab cultures is a Muslim problem but it is not. Its the same thing when it comes to women and Christian cultures or when groups try to use religious texts to justify the oppression/elimination of a race or the burning of women as witches. Men have been abusing authority for millennia, usually trying to cover it up with false religious justification because of its prominence in pretty much all cultures. The acts of men are the problem, not the religions. People can claim all they want that an act or behavior is justifiable according to their interpretation of a religious or legal text but that doesn't mean it is correct or even true to the original source... like abortion clinic bombings, acts done "in the interest of national security" (I know you especially enjoy that one), etc.8/26/2007 2:19:57 PM |
