This is a college message board with a minimal amount of posters actually of marriage age, let alone married.

Having said that, there are probably some fucked up kids that post here that can help you.

Your best place to start would be student legal services, not a message board

if its mutual and you dont have kids or much estate, you can do it yourself.... other than that, I have no advice.

oh yes, and this site is very helpful

http://www.rosen.com/ppf/law/Divorce/rosen/859/articles.asp

and you need to be separated for a year, so get a separate address asap.

Pfff I haven't seen them find a single baby daddy. They will have like five guys on there and do a paternity test and none of them are the father. Then she comes back a month later and they do it with five other guys. And none of them are the father either.

Julian Doby is a good Divorce Law attorney, I believe he is in Burlington. He also owns a night club

Apparently, you haven't been around very long. A majority of your regular users were in college 7 years ago, grew up on TWW, graduated, and never left. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a statistically significant portion of posters who are married and/or have children.

Been there, done that.....

"good lawyer but not too expensive?"- There are no good lawyers who are not expensive. For that matter, there probably are not any poor lawyers who are not expensive, they all get their money.

Do yourself a favor and get the best attorney regardless of cost. Don't know how long you were married, if you have kids, what kind of assets you are going to be dividing, but decisions made by a judge in court rulings are fairly permenant. Also, if you can reach a negotiated settlement on all issues, that is best, but still a good attorney will maximize what you get there as well.

Good luck. It sucks. Really sucks.
