I've been there a few times. for shows and Bingo (when I was 18). I don't gamble and have no interest in it.
from what I remember there really isn't anything to do for nightlife outside the Casino. The Pequot museum is interesting (went there on a field trip) if you enjoy history

Another nice casino in CT is the Mohegan Sun

there really is nothing else around. but foxwoods is pretty amazing. hartford is less than an hour away if you're looking more for nightlife.

And if you're looking to be raped and/or shot Springfield is just 30 miles N of Hartford.

I'm partial to Foxwoods since it's in the home state... it's one of the nicest somewhat no frills casinos around IMO..

marginal at best. they have plenty of casino areas, but everything else is subpar. i will give it one thing... it's HUGE. it's also in the middle of freakin nowhere. nothing around to do but that. caught a halfway decent band at one of the bars last night though.

the place we stayed was decent. only 3 miles from foxwoods, and the had complimentary shuttle service. much cheaper rates than the 3 onsite hotels also.

the new mgm grand looks like it's going to be a pretty wild place. might have to come back to check that out.

diclaimer: my loss of several hundreds of dollars has no impact on this review.
