Galaxy Cinema, an independent and foreign movie theater in Cary, is now seeking enthusiastic film fans for concessions/box office positions.

The job responsibilities include:
* Selling tickets and concessions
* Preparing coffee drinks such as cappuccinos and lattes
* Cleaning the theaters and concessions area between shows
* Having an up-to-date knowledge of our theater's current film lineup
* Talking to customers about our current and upcoming movies

The job perks include:
* Free popcorn and soda
* Discounted concessions
* Working with other film fans
* Potential to train for projection or management down the road
* More free movies than you can shake a stick at

Experience in a theater, restaurant, or cafe is a plus, but not required. Weekend availability is a must, as is being available for the upcoming Fall season.

when i was 16 i worked a theater in a mall.

i had to wear the gayest outfit, with a vest and a bowtie.

everytime i'd take a break to the food court or go smoke, the mallrats would call out "OH, theatre boy..."

man i hated that job.

i think i saw like 6 different movies about 50 times each.

I am pretty sure a movie theater manager knows that you are not looking for a career when you apply there. I worked at one for 7 months in HS and pretty much saw 150% turnover during that time.

But I'll say that it pays more than what Crossroads 20 or Park Place 16 pay.

We're not really like that. We have VERY low turnover for a movie theater--we're just losing a bunch of people who are going off to college/grad school/study abroad/whatever. I know people aren't looking at this as a career, but our people do stick around for a while.

I make the drive from borderline-Wake Forest to the Galaxy in about 20 minutes via 540 to 40. It's really not that bad and the tips cover gas on weekend nights.

Really is a great job for the college-goer.
