...So, you guys need to help me find a good, reliable bike that I can handle (5'2"... and as proven w/ the RR, I need to be able to touch atleast a little bit ). For my price range & reliability, lets say cruisers only, so height shouldn't be an issue... just weight. I'd love to get a sport bike, but the old stuff is just too damn heavy, and I don't have 5k to drop right now.
Req.- 600cc + , ability to hold two people somewhat comfortably Pref. low mileage & <10years old, but for the right bike that has been treated well these can be ignored Budget: $2500 - $2750
here's what I'm going to look at tomorrow: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/385653950.html
Haven't gotten through to this guy, but also an option: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/387985170.html
If you guys know of anything, or see something... please let me know! It's time to let the Rebel go! 8/3/2007 3:57:49 PM |

^ umm... no, definitely referring to the bike. size & overall weight is one of the biggest reasons I've held onto the Rebel this long. Also, thx for the birthday wishes, dnl. 8/3/2007 4:45:45 PM |

I'd be fine with that if we could get it running reliably & I felt comfortable on it (although I could lower that and not feel bad about it ) 8/3/2007 5:27:40 PM |

is it illegal for a woman to teach a man how to drive a motorcycle if the guy doesnt have a motorcycle license?
like what if she had a driveway and she taught me? is that illegal? 8/3/2007 5:39:44 PM |
ncsukat All American 1896 Posts user info edit post |
wtf? no it's not illegal. they don't care who teaches you... as long as you're in a parking lot or driveway it shouldn't matter. (driveway won't be enough room to learn, though... imho) parking lots are much better than driveways. but if you want to learn, may as well go get your permit. it's not difficult, just read the manual before you go take the test. 8/3/2007 5:46:03 PM |

So, I went and tried out the Silver Savage this morning-- way too tame to be considered a decent upgrade. Also too small- if I'm upgrading I want something worth upgrading to! That being the case, I'm also thinking something more standard style. Gonna look at a GS500F this evening hopefully. I enjoyed riding Danny's naked GS... so, at the very least I could strip it of its front fairings. 8/4/2007 5:07:05 PM |

^ yes!!!, average retail is around 3,500, low 2,700 i'd offer him about 2,500 and go from there, no more than 3,000
you gotta at least test ride one, they are great bikes, light and fairly powerful, and would fit your size perfectly 8/6/2007 11:32:24 AM |

^ Awww I'm sorry, Ed!
Dunno what's going on w/ my offer just yet... & the bike I made an offer on will need a considerable bike TLC overhaul to be rideable, but it's still pretty hot... so I think it would be worth it. Hopefully the guy moving next week will be enough to push him to sell it to me, although I made a very reasonable offer per my calculations 8/7/2007 12:52:19 PM |
pwnt All American 3052 Posts user info edit post |
Eh, it's alright. I lowballed the shit out of it. Nobody local wants to buy it so I thought he would bite. No telling what he'll get for it on ebay. Probably a shitload more than I offered. There's quite a few people that are buying up these old 2-strokers. 8/7/2007 12:56:32 PM |

The bike has only had two owners... the guy i'm buying it from got it back in '04. Kyle wouldn't have bought one new in '01... so, it's just the fact that it looks like his... it isn't actually his old bike.

I know where you can get some rotors for free, take a few minutes, they are located on Kaplan Drive,
