I'm guessing the fact that I have no clue what load balancing is excludes me from applying...

not necessarily.

if you can juggle, hacky-sack, or do some old school break dancing, these places will generally train you. Just look sharp and act like you have a clue -- the money is awesome, and the chicks are just freakin' INSANE.

Load balancing is done by setting up a clustered environment to balance traffic between servers and to present a highly available solution so that there is less instance where no service will be accessible.

A virtual ip (VIP) can be set up a couple ways, most of the time they are set to default to the primary server and only switch to the secondary server when there is no response. They can also be set up to round-robin, that is move between servers each time the VIP is hit with a request.

^ before you start complaining about other people's posts, you might want to take a look at your posts so far in this thread. All i see is mindless chit-chat-like thread crapping.

^^ WTF???

All Wadhead1 did was explain it nicely and professionally for people who don't what it is, WITHOUT calling people ignorant or asking them to google it etc etc etc.

And you insult and chastise someone for being knowledgeable and RESPECTFUL???

I don't get this. Really, I am baffled. At least, if he had asked people to google it, I would sort of understand your reaction and the "one of you guys" snide remark.

What did you mean by "one of you guys"???? What, you want to call him a nerd or a geek??? Go ahead, if that would make you feel better and/or superior. But you studied EE, so what gives?

As BobbyDigital said, look at your posts in here first.

As soon as you made your 1st and 2nd posts in this thread, it is US who should (RIGHTFULLY) have said "theres always gotta be one of you guys, doesn't there?" to you, meaning, there's always gotta be someone crapping up serious threads in a [supposed to be] serious section of TWW.

I don't know what has happened to you.

Just a little while ago, you called me out because I mildly chided a TEACHER for not knowing the difference between PRINCIPAL and PRINCIPLE. And you were there ready to pounce on me, and you did.

BUT, you correct spelling mistakes as well, in TSB for sure, and I almost recall, in other sections as well.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? Wife witholding sex from you??? You have just been rolling your eyes and belittling people all the time for the past few weeks. But more than that, you do the same damn things that you roll your eyes at and curse others for.

DOES NOT COMPUTE.

We arent looking to train anyone. This is a new position in which we expect someone to know their shit from day 1, and recommend solutions based on good experience. Great organization to work for. I hope someone that saw this has the experience and has applied. If you dont meet the requirements for the position, human resources automatically dumps the application, and it doesnt get forwarded on.
