So I'm willing to pay someone $40 to figure out why my PS3 isn't displaying video...let me describe.
Keep in mind no changes were made, no wires were loose, just a sudden technical issue,
I have a 42" panasonic plasma, 1080p which is connected through my sony receiver my ps3 is also connected to it, via hdmi and fiber optic audo cable ? when I turn on the PS3, there is no display, but there is sound...my friend recommended that I should maybe go buy a dvi cable?...or it might be compatibility issues between the ps3 and the panasonic...anyways, if it's not answered on here, and someone who knows a lot about this stuff (i'm a dumbass when it comes to electronics) I'd be willin to pay $40 for you to come check it out and maybe give some advice or fix it if you can, Thanks 8/13/2007 2:41:29 PM |

Was it working before? HDMI is kind of a cobbled together standard and there are all sorts of handshake issues between different HDMI devices. I would try connecting the PS3 directly to the TV. Also, you say you have the PS3 connected to the receiver with HDMI and fiber optic? Disconnect the fiber optic cable, HDMI passes both video and audio. 8/13/2007 2:55:37 PM |

if you recently connected the hdmi cable, you have to also hook up the original rca cable (so you do get picture) and change the settings on the ps3 to hdmi output. i had this problem when i first hooked mine up w/ hdmi (no video). once you change the settings, you can disconnect the rca cable. 8/13/2007 3:04:22 PM |

Anyone available? 8/13/2007 3:04:51 PM |

if you still have the RCAs, hook them back up and make sure your settings are correct for HDMI. 8/13/2007 3:06:48 PM |
