Fellow WolfWebbers, Rarely do I ask any of you to go out of your way for any purpose (if ever), but today I am asking with most every fiber in my being not only for you, your future, but for the future generations and for this once great nation now in decline to watch these following links. If I could impart or convey my somewhat educated point of view without making you all read on for hours I would, but I think we all can agree and feel in our guts that something is not right and certainly not as bright pertaining to our futures in America. That is why I decided to try to be a part of the solution instead of the problem, and am getting this message out, even though the powers that be (big media, etc.) are trying to block it. In the end you may disagree, and I hope that we never lose that right to disagree or choose, but at least I will feel right with throwing my 2 cents into the ring and taking a stand, however small that stand may be.
Please take a look if not for my urging then for yourself.

He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war. He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress. Ron Paul is a MD who has delivered over 4000 babies and is not a career politician backed by corporate funding and interests.

I have to say: without a doubt, Ron Paul is the only candidate I've seen who I am confident can lead America during these turbulent times of new globalism. This gentleman is a peace-lover who has embraced the internet and is not only intelligent, but is familiar with what the common man wants and needs. Wait. Is this the *United* States, or a country divided by two parties and stuck with an affiliation that creates the same old government we've been corrupted by for the past few generations? The big media outlets want him discredited, yet he is the only one who is consistent and provides the rationale to support his positions. Though the mainstream media tries to make him seem like an "outsider", the internet polls I've seen put him in the top 3 front runners, and it seems there is more like minded (United?) support for him than with any of the other candidates! Although I am not one for political bumper stickers, I put a Ron Paul 2008 sticker on my car - I hope this will stimulate others to check him out. BTW, those vids are great, especially http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCM_wQy4YVg Long but well well worth it! 8/16/2007 11:50:33 AM |

I'd vote for him, but I'm not a big fan of dismantling every single international institution from NATO to UNICEF. 8/16/2007 11:59:01 AM |

^^^ His Colbert Report interview (which you should be able to find on YouTube). Though to be fair, he simply said he wanted to see UNICEF dismantled but "wouldn't target it." 8/16/2007 12:52:18 PM |

I want him to win, change his party affiliation to Libertarian right after taking office, do such a good job that half of the nation's Republicans convert into Libertarians, and effectively destroy the Republican Party, forever.
If there's even a 0.1% chance of that, he's worth voting for.
If we can't have a multi-party system in this country, at least for elections, I say the Republicans should be reduced to a page in a history book. 8/16/2007 2:01:04 PM |

^^whoa whoa Who are you calling a liberal?
If you're assuming that someone who opposes Republicans must be a liberal, then you're just demonstrating one of the problems with the two party system. Namely, that it's too polarized. If one expresses disdain for either of the two main parties, people have these knee-jerk reactions, ignoring the fact that there is more to politics than Republicans and Democrats.
nm, I thought that was directed at my post.
