i need a good place to take a girl out in hickory. i don't care if it's trendy, classy, whatever. just something that's good. i have no idea what's in the area. Friend of mine said Nara Japanese but who knows.

Charolais is a nice steak house in upper hickory....good steaks, nice salad bar, cheese bar, etc

1829 Cafe is in downtown Hickory and owned by a friends family (incredible food and desserts)

both will run you around $25 a person or more depending on what you get but both have great food

i would def recommend either Da Vinci's or Michael's on 4th...but Nara is a very good japanese place so it kinda depends on what you want

if you go japanese, nakama on hwy 70 is by far the best small, take out/ eat in japanese place I have ever been, blows nara out of the water.
