I've been experiencing some pain in my hip joints and lower back over the years and recently it's become an almost daily discomfort (often after I've been lying down on one side). I have had a pretty bad injury there in the past so that may also have contributed. I'd like to try a chiropractor but don't know of any in Wake County.

If anyone has any good recommendations please let me know. I'd like one who is very strong as I have heard complaints about ones that didn't apply enough force and never really "fixed" alignment problems. Also if you can provide me with an estimate of costs, that would also be very appreciated.

Crabtree Chiropractic near the mall. been going there for almost 6 years now.

As far as costs go, if youre just getting started and have no insurance, its going to be a bit expensive because you have to get x-rays done first with your initial consultation. i don't know a price on these.

i don't have insurance but they have a program where you pay $30 to sign up and then every visit with traction is only $30. saves you a ton of money there though.

Awesome guy, been doing Chiropractic and holistic medicine for 25 - 30 years. I've been to a number of chiropractors and he is by far the best. He treats the whole body, not just back adjustments. He accepts insurance and will work with your payment-wise if you don't have coverage. I used my insurance so I'm not sure how much his visits cost out of pocket though.

Steve Saleeby is who I recommend, he has done wonders for me. I was a near cripple most of the time my back would be in constant pain (lower) as well as leg numbness, and hip pain and I would get stiff necks (locked up) constantly.
I had a neck injury from fball when I played Pop warner fb. He had to retrain my back to sit in the proper position took about 9 mnts but he was open and honest about what to expect. I thought I was on my way to fusion surgery like my father. But now I haven't felt better. I haven't been back in 3 months. I go back when I get stiff or feel the familiar twinge but that is what I was told to expect. Far better than what my father has to deal with he walks around like he has a board straped to his back.

Dr. John A. Smith on Capital Blvd. He's one of the Chiropractic Partners (http://www.chiropartners.com). He's the only one who has ever worked on me, and that is saying a lot because I don't, as a rule, believe in chiropractic care. He did a great job. He has great hours, too.

Osborne Chiropractic is near the corner of Duraleigh and Glenwood. I love the guy. He's cool and great to talk to, and he does a great job. I like to learn the ins and outs of what a doctor is doing to my body, and he has always given me great information. I had a misalignment that was squeezing some nerves and I asked him how long it would take for them to recover and regenerate after pressure was relieved and he was honest about it and had exactly what I was looking for.

Dr. Armstrong is great. Chiropractors may not be surgeons, but they certainly have their place in maintaining your body. He has helped control my migranes for some time now.

Ok lowjack. I guess you need to get your kicks on the wolf web. I'm just not sure why you decided to jump off topic in the first place. Keep private issues private.
