Mike Russell, a speedy heady player just gave James Blake a rough 3 sets

Some notable young Americans have advanced so far in Young defeating Guccione and Isner defeating neminen(sp), although I don't think the future of US tennis is looking very bright

Andy Roddick and Sharapova up tonight, Hingis advances, hopefully going as far as possible, I'm not sure about the other good looking women's singles maybe someone else can keep track

Isner is fucking huge!

There is no way to get it over his head....he has talent and ability no doubt. And what a great match they played yesterday.

hantuchova was upset today

Young has game but needs to get rid of the crooked hat.

I really like Isner but I dont know if he has as much mobility needed to be great. I think he has the ability to beat roddick because i think he has better ground strokes.

Blake is playing well and it will be interesting to see how well he does.

Hewitt is playing in top form right now and could make a decent run.

Federer will still win.

Nadal will lose out before the finals.

djokovic will need to prove himself that he can play well in the big tourneys but I think he can do it.

Serena was playing amazing last night. She's my pick to win the womens.

Venus was really rusty but since she is still venus she will go several rounds into although I do not think she will make it to the quarters.

I wish sharapova would win it all but even with all her heart someone like serena will beat her 8 out of 10 times.

Roddick definitely didn't play well enough tonight to have a chance at federer, but that can change some potentially tough match ups have lost (karlovic).

Would be pretty cool to see isner get a shot at federer all he has to do is win one more.

Maria Kirilenko is hot

sharapova's tennis game looked really good last night. she was killing her groundstrokes and basically doing whatever she wanted. of course the competition wasn't stellar, but i would still be very surprised if she didn't make it to the finals (though i would like to see hingis beat her on the way...unlikely).

Gimelstob pulled off some decent upsets and tournament runs in the late 90s. They were trying to hype him up as one of the rising US tennis players, but he never did much outside of doubles.

i was at the sharapova and roddick matches last night. though it was cool to see sharapova play, the men's match was much more entertaining. gimelstob nearly had the first set. and yeah, the banter after the west point guys left was pretty good.

Nadal should lose (or withdraw) in the next couple of rounds provided his knee doesn't miraculously improve.

Williams' postmatch news conference began with a query about whether she could explain what went wrong. Her reply: "No. I can't. I'm sorry. Any more questions?"

"She made a lot of lucky shots," Williams said a moment later, a white baseball cap pulled low over her eyes, "and I made a lot of errors."
