got tired of dealing with vista being sluggish and unweidly and there were a few compatibility issues I needed to avoid

I concur with this thread.
I am currently doing a dual boot. Guess which one hasn't been run in a month? Not XP. 9/4/2007 8:09:29 AM |

Propsero has been getting on my case about using Vista as my primary, and I tell you the truth, I'm only days away right now from destroying it and going back to XP too.
After ~7 or so months (more if you count betas) of constant Vista, constant problems, and constant troubleshooting, I've decided that it's really not worth my time anymore. I mean, I knew it had issues to start with, but I figured it was my duty as a computer guy to know how to work it and solve the problems for friends and family by using it every day. And I knew Microsoft botched their new OS from the get go, but I sorta thought they would fix things along the way and at the very least, shortly after release. But no, after all this time some of the most serious problems are still unresolved. And don't get me started on driver support.
Then there's the whole SP1 deal ... oh wait, they pushed the release date back until early 2008 now ... seriously, wtf mate?

We're getting ready to downgrade at work I think. Vista has been flaky as hell here. 9/4/2007 10:03:18 AM |

Vista works fine for me... Although my porn does take a little while longer to load. 9/4/2007 10:17:49 AM |

i waited until may to install vista, hoping that some problems would be resolved. i just now switched back. vista isnt very good now, and there is no compelling reason to upgrade in my opinion. hopefully sp1 will fix some shit 9/4/2007 11:45:43 AM |

I only installed it as part of my periodic reformat but I found it to just continue wanting to work against the power user, not to mention a bit of sluggishness at points
I'm a windows fan, and I love XP I just felt that Vista kept working against me 9/4/2007 12:01:32 PM |

So, when does the next OS come out? Hopefully it will be out by the time not having DirectX 10 becomes an issue.

vista just proves again that stability and performance reign over features and aesthetics
and gs7 i just get on your case b/c you insist on using vista to game while your games crash after every 3 rounds. while i don't mind dual booting vista, the 1 minute it would take to reboot into xp to game would be better worth it than the 2-3 minutes every 45 minutes to restart the game.
