I recently bought a new video card that uses a 6-pin power cable, meaning it has to take up two separate 4 pin connectors
the problem is I only have one normal 4 pin power cable free, but there is also another cable which I'm pretty sure is power for a floppy drive
I don't have a floppy drive and i'm not planning on getting one, so what I want to know is can I use the power from that cable to power the 2nd half of my video card's needs?
is what the floppy power cable looks like, I'm fairly certain 9/6/2007 6:53:31 PM |

it came with an adapter that plugs into two 4 pin power cables and has a 6 pin output

but back to the issue at hand
does the power cable that's designed for the floppy have enough juice to use instead of another regular 4 pin cable? 9/6/2007 7:05:20 PM |

yeah just get a new power supply. most new ones have this and your old one probably does not have enough juice.
I would not want to risk my video card getting fried or not enough juice because i nigger rigged it.

the shit running to the floppy connector is exactly the same as the bigger molex plugs
just snip it and crimp on a new connector 9/7/2007 1:11:36 AM |
