Yeah... but generally a solid substance is safer than a liquid substance is safer than a gaseous substance (for a human). If water dissolved you, water vapor would do the same thing. In a zero humidity environment, liquid water and ice should be safe though...

It's pretty dumb to think aliens would invade a planet 70% covered in a substance aggressively dissolves them. Not to mention that a lot of airborne water is in the form of fine mists (liquid droplets) such as fog. How about rain? Dew in the cornfields?

That's assuming that it's reasonable to think that somehow only liquid water would be dangerous to them, which is a silly assumption since toxic compounds are likely to be more readily absorbed and reacted with when they're in a gas than a liquid anyways.

It's not like they could possibly not know about water either. It's one of the most common chemical compounds in the universe. Why invade a planet NAKED that's covered in an extremely reactive poison?

Piranha II. Seriously. Part I was believable because piranhas exist and they really do tear up some meat. But, in PII when they learned how to fly it was just plain ridiculous.
