ok to all you top end tech knowledgeables...
with my new 680i came a new bios, and with the new bios came a new feature (to me) for a power on alarm. which is perfect so my computer turns itself on before i wake up.
What i want to know is if theres anyway to have either a program, or the bios, log into windows (or if not i could take the log in screen off) and starts up winamp (or any music player) and start my music. obv if i take the logon screen of and have winamp start with windows then thats 3/4 the way there, but is there anyway to have winamp auto start music when it runs?
guess this is more of a winamp question...
ok and one more thing, if there is said program or script out there to have windows perform certain actions at start up, what other things could i do? 9/9/2007 5:06:21 PM |

Now, put a shortcut to Winamp in your Start Menu/Program Files/Startup folder, and ...

I applaude the fact that you're willing to save power by not leaving your computer on all night. I know plenty of people who will use 120 KW hours a month just so they can use their computers as alarm clocks. 9/9/2007 10:32:07 PM |

heh yeah i know, but im a hardcore gamer and so ive always had the habit of turning of the computer when im not using it, so its fresh for when i do.
plus it makes my room toasty, and i love to sleep a freezer type enviro, so i guess im using the power im saving from the computer to make the room...col..der?

A computer uses only what, $10 - $20 of electricity per month? That's worth it to me to be able to RDC into my computer whenever I need to get something off of it.9/10/2007 10:23:42 AM |
