All hardwood, seasoned, split and delivered. $80 per truckload (almost 1/2 cord). Send me a pm if interested. I can also sell some smaller loads if you have an apartment or just need firewood for a party.

Hope you don't mind but I'm gonna steal your thread :-p I probably won't get any business on here because I live so far away, but its worth a try to help out my grandfather.

I live about an hour north of Raleigh and my grandfather sells firewood cheap (its his only source of income other than retirement). Its all oak hardwood thats seasoned and split, and we have green also.

$45 for a truck load if you pick it up - any size truck (other than dump truck)
$125 if delivered to Raleigh (over a cord, 350+ sticks on a 10ft trailer)

Our pile is a lot bigger than that now and you have to keep in mind, the building behind it is full to the top. Last year we sold about 10k in wood and never had a complaint.

I sold over $8,000 worth of firewood between september 06 and march 07. No complaints for me either.

Hope you're not mad for me stealing the thread - I doubt anyone will want to drive up this way to get wood, but it helps out my grandfather a lot. We live in a small town and don't get too much business because most of Roxboro cuts their own wood (we're a bunch of rednecks)

The best way for you to help him out is to post some adds on craigslist for him. I have only sold 5 loads off of tww, but ive sold over 100 on craigslist.

yeah I probably will - last year we just posted fliers around town and could barely keep up with that because my grandpa is 70 years old and he can only go so fast we got a few bites off of WRAL also but mostly in Durham, Raleigh was a little harder to do because its such a long drive

My grandfather uses a Stihl, not sure what model though, and he has a few Poulans for little stuff. He doesn't have to do much cutting though. My dad cuts the trees down and gives the wood to my grandfather, since my father cuts trees for a living. He then uses an industrial wood splitter for the splitting though.

third year ive done this...so here goes.

A cord of wood measures 4 feet high by 4 feet wide by 8 feet long, or 128 cubic feet. Excellent price as well!

I have a fireplace in my small apartment. How much wood do you think I'd need for a good portion of the winter? What do you charge for smaller loads?

How long will it store on a porch? Do I need something special to store it in? Would I need to keep it dry?

I guess my question is... if I bought the firewood now, would it still be usable in February?

^ If you bought firewood now, it would still be usable 15 years from now. You can just stack it on your porch or where ever you want. Its a good idea to keep it at least an inch off of the ground and keep it covered up to keep it from rotting and to keep bugs from eating it. Pm if you need a load.

Lucky1 delivered some firewood tonight. Stuff looks great. He and his girlfriend (I guess? Just don't want to make assumptions) helped me unload it, even though they were in a rush to get to class and it was to the 2nd floor. Thanks for the help guys.

I meant to check and see if you needed any kindling or firestarter. I guess living in an apartment you dont have much access to kindling.

Lots of firewood for the price. You guys should definitely take advantage of this.
Note that the pile would be larger for an $80 batch -- this was $50 since it's just for a small apartment.

As a courtesy to my fellow wolfwebbers, I am now selling smaller loads for apartments, townhouses, backyard parties, and camping. I also have kiln dried kindling and firestarter to help start your fire. All prices listed below.

Full cord (128 cubic feet) $150

1/2 cord (64 cubic feet) $80

1/4 cord (32 cubic feet) $50

1/8 cord (16 cubic feet) $35

You can also buy it by the stick at $1.00 per piece, though I cant deliver for such small quantities.

Kiln dried kindling bundles $7

Fire starter blocks $5

Tww users can send me a pm or email me at maalmond@bellsouth.net, and lurkers can email me at maalmond@bellsouth.net. Please leave a phone number so that I may easily contact you,

-Mike

PS: I am getting $180 per cord and $90 per 1/2 cord on craigslist just to let you all know what kind of deal I am giving everyone on tww.

We've had a fire going all afternoon and will probably have one going into the evening.
At this rate, we're going to need some more firewood in December, Lucky1.

after a $620 propane bill (from July through October), we keep the heat set down in the low 60s and keep a fire burning almost all the time when we're home.
