Selling a very nice fish tank for a friend. Let me know if you're interested, I can hook you up. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/for/399802280.html
This tank is a 54 gallon corner pentagon aquarium. It is in great condition, no leaks or cracks in the glass. I am selling everything together. What it comes with is: - tank - hood with three opening doors and a metal reflector for lights - stand - 20g high sump - double tube overflow box - all of the plumbing (it is a very nice custom system) - mag5 500 gph pump for sump (brand new never been opened) - aqualifter something or other (for the overflow box, also unopened) 9/18/2007 1:02:37 PM |

It's based off my extensive looking at craig's list. As many aquarists will tell you, you pay alot for the equipment, but they don't have much resale value. 9/20/2007 2:41:38 PM |

Also, for saltwater tanks, hexagonal tanks are not very popular. They are hard to clean, and if using live rock as the biological filter (highly recommended), it's hard to set up the rock and leave room for the cleaners. This tank is also very tall, giving a low water/air surface for gas exchange, and hex shapes make creating dead zones with the water pumps very easy.
Even petstores have problems reselling saltwater tanks. The 90-gallon display tank setup at Petco is valued at $2100 new, and it's on clearance for $800 becasue they can't get rid of it. 9/20/2007 3:14:15 PM |
