An invasion probably isn't necessary. Even the mongoloid circle-jerkers at the CIA could handle that coup under current conditions. Throw around a little money in the right places and at the very least we could replace the bloodthirsty junta with at least a regular dictator who won't pull shit like:

fox news has an AP report up about mutinies in several army units. conflicting reports about whether these units simply refused to leave their barracks or are actively defending the protesters from other army units. other reports of fierce gunfire give credence to the latter though, since i doubt the monks are heavily armed.

I am annoyed with two aspects of this wrt the US:

1) the use of the term "Myanamar" in any context that isn't pure parody. It's like calling China "Mao-land."
2) the recent "freezing of assets" we undertook in response. Why weren't the generals' assets frozen already? What, they weren't just as despotic three weeks ago?

You can't just run around freezing the assets of despots or in the future despots will find somewhere else to stash all the money they are stealing. I like today's system; we get to freeze despotic assets when they fuck up, and these Burmese types have really fucked up.

That said, I would prefer if they never froze anyones assets barring the conviction for a U.S. or international crime.

Every time you get the CIA involved, the new leadership is worse then the old. The CIA and the US government does not put righteous people in power in foreign countries.
