$30/month for as many full service washes (regularly $16/each) as you want on one car (they print the make/model and license plate on the membership card, so no, you can't do what you're thinking about)

i love this thing. i get my car washed twice a week.

vacuumed, washed, sealed, dried by hand, windshield and windows cleaned inside and out

i know autobell isn't the best car wash in the world... but you can't beat this deal, and it's hard to screw up something as simple as this.

anyone else do this?

You're going to fuck your paint up washing your car that much... especially in an automated washer.

Hand wash ftw

Hmm. I usually spring for one full service wash a month (roughly) at Bunkey's, and that runs me $21 I think... Might not be a bad deal. What's the closest Auto Bell to campus though? The only one I can think of is the one on Millbrook, which is quite a drive.

Still gotta tip the dudes each time though. (On that subject, what is the appropriate tip for a full-service car wash? I usually go with $2...)

its $30/month, they charge your card every month on the 1st

and washing your car by hand will fuck up the paint job way more than an automatic washer.

depends on wash type... if it has the brushes then yeah, you are right, if it's a 'touchless' or 'laser' wash it shouldn't mess with your paint anymore than hand washing i would think

closest one to campus is on hwy 70, head down s. saunders away from downtown, bear left at the 70/401 split, it's on your right. that's the one i always go to and they always do an excellent job. if you get the card, you can use it at any autobell.

i usually tip $2-$3, depending on how much i have in my wallet.

The problem with the "touchless" and "laser" washes is that, in my experience, they don't do shit. Not worth spending money on at all...The only "touchless" method that seems to work that I've seen is to go to one of those places where you pull in and do the wash yourself with one of those big wand things. (Touchless if you don't use the "foam brush" part, which I don't because I completely don't trust that thing not to fuck up my paint...)

Do they clean the wheels well for this "full service"?
How about tire dressing?

yeah, last time i went the dude got down with a cloth and scrubbed the wheels, they're clean now

you can get the tire gloss stuff for $3 extra if you want, it's really not worth it.

if you just tell the guy that if he takes care of the tires you'll take care of him and give a $5 tip you'll be fine

once the folks that work there know that you're a good tipper you'll get the best service
guys will be fighting to get your car

I'm not saying there is a technical difference. But, again just in my experience, the standard automatic gas station/etc. touchless car washes aren't very thorough. They try to position the nozzles to where they will be, but one-size-fits-all is kind of a detriment. The "by hand" touchless washing, since I'm paying attention to what is more and less dirty, and I can go back if I miss something, ends up being a better clean.
