as opposed to them drilling a hole and pulling it out.
is this possible? Its a dent in my door. I can take pictures. I'm too lazy to actually go to a body shop, as I'm usually working during their hours anyways.
how much would it cost for something like that?

I've heard of paintless dent repair.. maybe look into that. Hard to say anything without an idea of how big of a dent you're talking about 10/4/2007 12:00:08 PM |

its pretty big.
there wasn't any paint damage, and it doesnt have to look perfect....

north ridge auto spa on sandy forks has a paintless dent removal guy that comes up there during the week and on weekends randomly, and if he's not there when you go, theyll call him and get him up there. he's with dent wizard i think, or maybe dent doctor.. anyway gave me a very reasonable quote for getting several small door ding dents out of my car. 10/4/2007 12:20:17 PM |

hit up wesgate imports. they have dentbusters on staff. just call to make sure he is there (he does trips to other places to fix dents also)...
as long as there is no paint damage, and as long as you do not mess with it, it should look good 10/4/2007 4:13:36 PM |

If you don't want it perfect, just take a plunger to it. 10/4/2007 11:39:16 PM |

i got something similar in the hatch of my GC and never bothered calling the dentless guy. if u dont mind if its isnt smooth im sure he can make it better..at a price. creases are bad and the metal has been stretched so itll never be right without junkin the paint and probably some bondo 10/5/2007 12:29:32 AM |

why not take off the inside panel of the door? can u get to the skin from there? if so take a soft mallet to it and hit it in the center of the creases softly and work the dent out that way. 10/5/2007 8:05:18 AM |

which is cheaper:
Identical door from a junkyard
or
New doorskin + Install + Paint
? 10/5/2007 9:34:08 AM |
baonest All American 47902 Posts user info edit post |
def. another door from junkyard.
its not easy taking a doorskin off. (plus who knows what else is messed up with the door)
you could possible get a door shell the same color and just transfer all your stuff to it. 10/5/2007 9:56:42 AM |

advance auto parts sells a suction cup dent puller that may take most of that out. You may have to finish up with the hot glue puller and as long as that dent doesn't go over any major creases you should have good success. If all else fails - the suction cup only costs 3 bucks and the hot glue kit only costs 20. 10/5/2007 9:24:19 PM |

just looked at the pics again and seeing that it does go over that crease you're probably better off with a new door like baonest has been saying. 10/6/2007 12:55:38 PM |

for real. no way it's going to look any better than it does. like jsmcconn said, the metal has been stretched.

if you were broke as a joke, then yeah. you could spend a day and massage the dent out and try to get it as close as possible. but there are alternatives if you can throw some cash down 10/6/2007 1:22:18 PM |
