i dont see why it is retarded. they will have to pay out if anything happens to you. a lifestyle of substance abuse makes the odds of something happening go up. they just want to cover their bases 10/5/2007 3:33:33 PM |

iu would not deal with them. they probably are a shiesty company and would not like to pay out if you needed to file a claim.
^ we all know we can 'pass' a drug test easily, so i really don't see the point of a drug test for anything unless its random.

If you take out a private insurance policy with BCBS they might randomly select you for a physical. By random they mean that if you are young or old they'll give you one. So yeah, I had to take one when I got insurance.
My agent said she has had a ton of parents come in all pissed off because they found out there kids were doing drugs when they went to get the insurance required drug test. lol. 10/5/2007 3:35:41 PM |

my mom told me they probably figure any 22 year old that needs insurance does drugs....i think the entire premise is bullshit 10/5/2007 3:36:43 PM |

^^^^To my knowledge, most insurance carriers are basically resellers. Meaning they sell your policy to another insurance company. Having your clean test in the paperwork makes it more attractive and covers their ass should something happen.

it is all bullshit
if you KNOW you have to take a piss test you WILL pass it
why would you deal with a reseller when you can go straight to the source?

a drug test is pretty much useless unless the drug test is random, meaning you have to piss right then and there 10/5/2007 3:41:03 PM |

while that's overwhelmingly the case, there are a sad few that couldn't make it even one day without their fix
scheduled drug tests would at least identify those
and you certainly don't want to hire or insure them10/5/2007 5:22:09 PM |
