I'm in the process of planning a week trip to Costa Rica. I'm looking for a romantic get away for two in a remote location (away from all the tourists). Ideally the place would be a small one bedroom villa or studio with a private hot tub or pool. Mostly I have been looking for rentals on VRBO.com. If anyone has been pointers are welcome. 10/9/2007 1:28:33 PM |

Drake Bay is very remote. I stayed at Jinetes De Osa, but there are a more expensive luxury hotels on Osa peninsula. 10/9/2007 3:17:58 PM |

Just got back from Tamarindo, Costa Rica. It was beautiful. Loved damn near everything about it.
You don't want to go "remote", because it'll be impossible to get good food, drink etc. You just want a small town and you want to go during the rainy season, because very few tourists are there and many of the locals go on holiday too.
It's still absolutely beautiful and it keeps the weather bearable. 10/9/2007 3:32:47 PM |
